VCT EMEA Stage 1 paused due to technical issues

VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 postponed due to technical issues. Riot Games to announce new schedule soon. Full refunds issued for ticket holders.

The final round of VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025 EMEA Stage 1 was supposed to play out on Friday, April 25; however, due to technical issues, Riot Games was forced to postpone the VALORANT games until further notice.

The problems began with the first match of the day between Team Liquid and Karmine Corp, who needed over three hours to complete the first map before Riot decided to call it quits.

In the announcement, Riot promised to revise the schedule and announce the new dates in the coming days. Moreover, all ticket holders for the event received full refunds.

The issues started in a crucial match between Team Liquid and Karmine Corp, who are still in the race for a favourable playoff seeding.

Liquid, who entered the game with a 3-1 record, were battling for the no.1 seed in Group Omega, whereas Karmine Corp are 2-2, one win short of catching up with FUT Esports and claiming an invite to the upper bracket.

The drawn-out map one between Team Liquid and Karmine Corp ended in favour of Liquid, who won Split with 13-6.

However, despite their success, it is unclear whether the score will carry over to the rescheduled fixture or not.

The issues also postponed the clash between Fnatic and Team Heretics, who were set to fight it out for Group Alpha’s first seed and a perfect 5-0 record.

While VCT 2025 EMEA stays paused until further notice, the playoffs in the other three regions are already in full swing.

VCT China Stage 1 playoffs will resume on May 2, when Wolves Esports meet with XLG Esports in the upper bracket final, followed by a lower bracket semifinal affair between EDward Gaming and Bilibili Gaming.

In the Americas, the first round of the knockout stage is already in the rearview mirror, with Cloud9 and NRG joining 2GAME Esports, LOUD, Leviatan, and FURIA as the first four eliminated teams.

The Pacific region entered the playoff stage on Saturday, when Gen.G Esports and DRX defeated their opponents, TALON and T1, respectively.

The two winners will play BOOM Esports and Rex Regum Qeon on Sunday, while TALON and T1 will have to wait until May 3 for their lower bracket fixtures.

The technical issues and postponement of the group stage games have thrown a wrench in the scheduling of VCT EMEA.

However, with over a month separating us from VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025, the EMEA region will have plenty of time to catch up.
