Wolves Esports have released Li “R1ckLee” Xu from their VALORANT roster after a short three-week stint, with no immediate changes to the lineup.

On Sunday, April 5, Wolves Esports announced the departure of Li “R1ckLee” Xu, who leaves the Chinese VALORANT Teams after a short three-week stint.
R1ckLee joined Wolves Esports ahead of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 1, shortly after the team’s poor performance at the VALORANT China Evolution Series 2026: Act 1.
Things did not improve at the start of Stage 1, as Wolves suffered two 0-2 sweeping losses against Trace Esports and Edward Gaming.
Interestingly, R1ckLee has not featured in a single game for Wolves Esports.
He was added to the roster simply to fulfil the requirement of the team fielding a five-person roster and was eventually replaced by Liang “glacier” Zhe-kai after the Taiwanese player turned 18.
Wolves was R1ckLee’s fourth stop in his career. The Chinese player started his VALORANT career with Infantry, Cats, and Weibo Gaming, with whom he competed in the second tier of the Chinese VALORANT scene.
The departure of R1ckLee will not lead to any changes to Wolves or their roster, which has already undergone some adjustments over the last few weeks, more notable the departures of Bijan “qiutiaN” Moeinzadeh and Fei “Satoshi” Zhixian.
Wolves’ Stage 1 endeavour continues on Thursday, April 9, when they face off against Dragon Ranger Gaming on day three of Week 2.
The best VALORANT bookmakers have yet to open markets for beyond the first round of VCT China Stage 1 Week 2. However, Wolves esports are expected to enter the game as favorites and bounce back following a rough start to the stage.
