Eternal Fire’s imoRR detained in Turkey after being linked to illegal gambling site KeyDrop, leaving team short for BtcTurk GameFest 2025.
Ömer “imoRR” Karataş, a member of the Eternal Fire Counter-Strike 2 roster, has been detained by the Turkish authorities after allegedly profiting from promoting a gambling service.
The 25-year-old, who has recently joined Eternal Fire’s new Counter-Strike 2 lineup, has been caught in a wider crackdown on the promotion of a case-opening website, along with other influencers.
According to the reports by Turkish media, the detention of imoRR and others involved comes after an investigation by Istanbul’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, which found 19 suspects guilty of promoting KeyDrop on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and other platforms.

While allowed in other jurisdictions, Turkey has strict laws against gambling and making a profit from and promoting gambling websites.
The suspicion of imoRR’s involvement is further strengthened by the fact that KeyDrop offers a case with imoRR’s name with a claim that the case was made with the help of the Turkish CS2 player.
The investigation is another step towards banning Counter-Strike case opening and regulating online gambling activities.
Belgium and The Netherlands have so far implemented the most restrictive measures, banning any CS case opening and forcing Valve to restrict cases for players in the two countries.
The arrest of imoRR comes at an unfortunate time for Eternal Fire, who rebuilt their roster on May 11 following the departure of their previous lineup to Aurora Gaming.

As an experienced in-game leader, imoRR was a key part of Eternal Fire’s roster rebuild.
He previously played for EF in 2021-2023, alongside most of the current Aurora Gaming lineup, before focusing on content creation under Eternal Fire’s brand.
With imoRR forced to step down from the active roster, Eternal Fire have four days to find a replacement ahead of their next match against Sangal ALTERS in the upper bracket semifinals of a local LAN event, BtcTurk GameFest 2025.
