Chinese League of Legends icon Jian “Uzi” Zihao will be enshrined as the second-ever inductee into Riot Games’ Hall of Legends, joining South Korea’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok in the Hall of Fame.

Uzi, widely hailed as one of the greatest bot laners of all time, will be formally recognised during a special induction ceremony on June 6 in Shanghai, where Riot and partner Mercedes-Benz will present him with a custom art piece and a MANUFAKTUR Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology. A dedicated documentary chronicling his journey will also debut on the League of Legends YouTube channel on June 11.

Uzi rose to stardom with Royal Club and Royal Never Give Up (RNG), capturing global attention with his aggressive playstyle and mechanical excellence. He reached back-to-back LoL World Championship finals in 2013 and 2014, claimed multiple LPL titles, and was a gold medallist with Team China at the 2018 Asian Games. Although a World Championship title eluded him, his influence on the bot lane role and the esports landscape is considered historic.

“Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports,” said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports. “His passion and determination have inspired millions.”

Beginning June 11, Riot will launch a Hall of Legends in-game event featuring cosmetic items and a game pass themed around Uzi’s career. These items, created in collaboration with “Mad Dog”—Uzi’s longtime moniker—will allow fans to celebrate his legacy directly in-game. A portion of revenue from the bundles will be shared with Uzi and his affiliated teams.

The Hall of Legends celebrates players who’ve made defining contributions to League of Legends. Inductees are selected annually by a panel of industry veterans and regional experts, based on international success, role dominance, regional titles, and long-term impact on the scene.

Uzi retired from professional play in 2023 and leaves behind a legacy not only of success but of revolutionising what it means to be a carry in League of Legends.
