The Apex Legends Global Series Split 2 Playoffs was held from April 29th, 2022 to May 1st, 2022. The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs surpassed existing ALGS viewers milestones, reaching its peak of 676,653 concurrent viewers as reported by Esports Charts. The massive increase is said to have been driven by a return to LAN after a three-year hiatus, leading to the first proper international ALGS competition ever since the 2019’s Playoff Invitational.

In January, the Split 1 Playoffs in North America had a large audience, with over 300,000 viewers watching the event over numerous streams. The tournament took place online, and the ALGS permitted players to stream their own POVs on a delayed basis, dividing the total viewership between ALGS YouTube page and Twitch accounts.

The Split 2 Playoffs’ LAN format resulted in a bigger concentration of viewers, as many of the event’s most prominent professional players were unable to stream it. The Split 2 Playoffs, however, surpassed the viewership record of North America’s Split 1 finals, driving viewers toward other streams.

During the course of the three-day tournament, there were also notable viewership trends. An average of 283,905 people watched the whole thing. The viewing figures are still amazing, given that games often begin in the middle of the night in North America, whereas matches in the Asia-Pacific regions usually begin in the evenings and run into the night.

The game’s high point came in the final round, with the underdog Reignite winning a thrilling game seven.

The ALGS also made a wise decision in hiring Jack “NiceWigg” Martin, author of Charlotte Phoenix pro Athanasios “Greek” Alestas and 100 Thieves, to broadcast matches which weren’t taking place on the main event.

In the Apex community, ALGS stream viewing parties are prevalent, and the duo gave the B stream a much more relaxed atmosphere. Whereas both players were competing in Last Chance Qualifiers to vie for the ALGS Championship in July, the game series should consider an alternative structure for the Championship match, maybe collaborating with other Apex players if Greek and NiceWigg are unable to cast.

The ALGS’ Split Two Playoffs in Stockholm was such a spectacular triumph for a tournament had its the LAN event canceled, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. And, based on the game’s ratings, the ALGS Championship, which has a grand prize of $2.5 million, should be even larger.

The ALGS Championship will be hosted in Raleigh, North Carolina, from July 7 to 10 this year. The event’s Last Chance Qualifiers will commence this weekend, May 6, in all zones.

Reignite emerged winners of the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs

40 of world’s greatest teams gathered in Stockholm, Sweden, to compete for the title of the Apex Champion.

The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs which spanned for three days, saw Reignite become the eventual champions. Although the team didn’t make a good impression until the second day of the competition. Instead, they finished second and third to keep the points rolling in.

Reignite definitely stepped up on finals day, garnering a total of 78 points, nine points clear of Team Liquid, who were in second place. In addition to the $250,000 prize money, Reignite will earn 50 playoff points on qualifying for the ALGS Champions to hold later this year.
