FaZe Clan announced on Monday, March 16, that they are parting ways with their head coach, Filip “NEO” Kubski, who leaves the Counter-Strike 2 team after nearly three years.

NEO joined FaZe Clan in July 2023 as a replacement for Robert “RobbaN” Dahlström and has helped the team to several notable tournament runs. Most notably, NEO led FaZe to three consecutive Major finals at PGL Major Copenhagen, Perfect World Shanghai, and StarLadder Budapest.

However, despite the past success, FaZe decided to cut ties with the Polish strategies following a long streak of disappointing results this year.

FaZe Clan already struggled in the 2025 season and attempted to find their footing by swapping key players in Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and Håvard “rain” Nygaard. Yet even significant roster changes led to no notable improvement.

This season, FaZe Clan have attended four events, including BLAST Bounty Winter, Intel Extreme Masters Krakow, PGL Cluj-Napoca, and ESL Pro League, but have not managed to find much success.

The final straw came last week, when FaZe Clan exited ESL Pro League in 12th-14th place. They managed only one victory in Stage 2 against Monte, but were unable to beat G2 Esports, paiN Gaming, and Astralis.

The streak of abysmal results pushed FaZe Clan down the global rankings and now sit on the cusp of securing an invite for the upcoming IEM Cologne Major.

Having shown no signs of improvement, FaZe decided to make more drastic changes and released NEO, whose first coaching stint of his career came to an end on Monday.

As announced by FaZe, NEO will be replaced by the team analyst Dominik “GruBy” Świderski, who will serve as an interim head coach for the upcoming events.

GruBy will debut as FaZe’s coach on Wednesday, March 18, when FaZe will play their first game of BLAST Open Spring.

The tournament is set to run from March 18 to 29 and will feature 16 teams, including many of the world’s heavyweights in FURIA, Team Vitality, PARIVISION, Team Falcons, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, and Team Spirit.

Considering their recent struggles, FaZe Clan are not among the main candidates to go all the way. The best CS2 betting sites have them priced as +5000 outsiders to win silverware.

Team Vitality lead the way as +150 favorites ahead of FURIA at +400 , and Team Spirit in third, at +450 .
