Legacy defeated Team Falcons in the CS Asia Championships 2026 grand final on Sunday, May 24, and defended their title.

With an upset victory over the pre-tournament favorites, Legacy claimed their second Counter-Strike 2 tournament title of the season and the first big title since winning last year’s CAC.

The grand finals kicked off as expected, with Team Falcons securing an early lead.

Led by their new in-game leader, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Falcons secured Nuke with 13-11. However, they failed to stop Legacy from leveling the score on Ancient, which the Brazilian team won with 13-9.

After an entertaining back-and-forth on the first two maps, Legacy turned on their jets on Mirage. They ran away with an 8-4 lead before the switch, and despite losing the pistol round on CT-side, managed to close the map out with 13-6.

With their backs against the wall, Team Falcons failed to find any footing on Dust2, going down 0-6 before getting their names on the board.

Seemingly disjointed and out of ideas of how to attack, the Falcons managed just three rounds on T-Side, going into the second half 3-9 down.

Things did not improve on the defensive side, as the Falcons lost the pistol round and another before responding with three of their own. That, however, would be all Falcons mustered up on the map before Legacy closed it out with 13-6.

With the grand final victory, Legacy have now won their first international trophy since signing Andrei “arT” Piovezan, adding to their strong semifinal run at Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta and a quarterfinal appearance at ESL Pro League.

On the other side, Team Falcons’ runner-up finish marks their second in two events after PGL Astana, and their third of the season, after Falcons made the grand final of BLAST Bounty Winter in January.

The CAC 2026 grand final loss marked Falcons’ seven straight defeat at the final hurdle, a streak which started at IEM Melbourne 2025.

Having ended another event with a bittersweet taste in their mouths, Team Falcons now have just over a week to prepare for their next competitive endeavor – IEM Cologne Major.

According to the latest outright odds on the top-rated CS2 bookmakers, Team Falcons are priced at +600 to win the trophy, sitting behind Team Spirit and Natus Vincere at +500, while Team Vitality remain the main favourites at -138.89.
