Wolves Esports have parted ways with Deryeon after three months, following disappointing results in VCT China Stage 2 and VCT Threshold China.

On Thursday, October 29, Wolves Esports announced that Derrick “Deryeon” Yee is leaving the Chinese VALORANT roster after a short three-month stint.
Deryeon joined Wolves Esports on July 5, ahead of VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 China Stage 2, as part of a small roster rebuild, with Xie “nothingh” Junzheng and Zhong “aluba” Haojun added days earlier.
The roster rebuild, which Wolves hoped would help them bounce back from disastrous performances in the China Kickoff and Stage 1, did not net the expected results.
After a ninth-10th and 11th-12th place finish in Kickoff and Stage 1, Wolves finished Stage 2 in 11th-12th place, with just two victories in Group Omega.
Wolves’ woes continued into October, as they crashed out of VCT Threshold China in last place, and have thus failed to secure their spot in VCT China for the next season.
Despite joining Wolves with a strong reputation in the Southeast Asian scene, Deryeon has failed to help Wolves reach their former heights and has struggled individually. He posted a 0.98 performance rating in VCT China Stage 2, making him the third-highest-rated player on the roster.
Before signing for Wolves, Deryeon has played for Louvre, BLEED Esports, Disguised, Global Esports, and Motiv Esports. He has found the most success with BLEED, with whom he won two Challengers Malaysia & Singapore splits and VCT Ascension Pacific 2023.
Despite the team’s success in Ascension, BLEED would not remain in the VCT for the 2024 season, due to Riot Games removing the team from the league after failing to meet the operational standards, which included failure to pay transfer and buyout fees, not responding to Riot’s audit requests, and CEO Mervin Goh finding himself facing serious criminal fraud and assault charges.
Over the next two years, Deryeon played for Disguised and spent 2025 and early 2026 on Global Esports, with whom he did not qualify for any international events.
Deryeon’s departure from Wolves comes just a day after the Chinese team released coach Alexander “alexRr” Frisch, leaving them with five active members and uncertain future.
