The fifth installment of the Stake Ranked Counter-Strike 2 tournament is on the horizon, as eight teams prepare for the first round of the double-elimination stage on Tuesday, October 27.
Esportbet brings you free Counter-Strike 2 previews and expert picks for the tournament’s opening four matches, along with odds from top-rated esports bookmakers.
MAGIC vs BIG
Magic can be seen as a serious title contender at Stake Ranked Episode 5, as they have spent much of the last few months competing in bigger tournaments.
More recently, magic featured at 1win Private Club #1 and #2, but have managed a rather underwhelming 3-4 record, beating just Team Liquid, GamerLegion, and EYEBALLERS. So, while they had previously caused issues to Legacy, FaZe Clan, PARIVISION, and some other higher-rated teams, magic’s form is worrying.
BIG lost to magic on September 3 and have since played nine games, winning just three. However, that stretch includes wins against The MongolZ and close games against G2 Esports, Astralis, and Luminosity.
BIG have shown better form of late, and are rightly listed as $1.80 favorites on the best CS2 bookmakers. Yet even at this number, they’re worth a bet.
BIG to win
INNER CIRCLE ESPORTS vs TEAM NEMESIS
No odds available.
Team Nemesis are the lowest-rated team of the tournament, sitting in 47th spot in the global rankings and 34th in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS). However, since acquiring a new coach, Stepan “brain” Sivoronov, Nemesis have been looking better.
Nemesis are 8-2 from their last 10 games, and have recently reached the semifinal of NODWIN Clutch Series #13. However, while most of their wins in the last three weeks have come against lesser opponents, Nemesis have been gaining momentum and should not be viewed as complete outsiders for Tuesday’s game.
Inner Circle Esports are a more established roster, having featured in a few bigger events this year, including BLAST Open Fall. But they have not found any success against stronger opposition and even in some lesser tournaments, such as Stake Pulse Beat III, IC Esports haven’t won much.
Inner Circle have experience facing stronger teams than Team Nemesis, but they have played just three games since September and lost all but one.
Form and momentum are factors, making Team Nemesis an inviting pick at even odds.
Team Nemesis to win
ASTRALIS vs FNATIC
Astralis are the defending Stake Ranked champions, having won this tournament just three weeks ago. Since then, Astralis have attended Stake Pulse Beat III, but did not go far and crashed out of the tournament in fifth-eighth place with a 1-2 loss against MIBR.
Fnatic have been struggling to find success this year, with only one tournament title from ESL Challenger League Season 52 Europe in July. They have been active this month, playing in Stake Pulse Beat III, 1win private Club #2, and Stake Ranked E4, where they placed fourth following a 0-2 loss against Astralis.
It was a very one-sided game. Astralis won 13-6 on Dust2 and 13-3 on Ancient. Fnatic have shown some signs of life since, but not enough to take their side in this rematch.
Astralis to win
MIBR vs ETERNAL FIRE
MIBR are expected to cruise past Eternal Fire on Tuesday, which is not a wrong assessment considering MIBR’s form heading to Spain. The Brazilian squad have won four of the last five games and have even shown some pulse against stronger teams in September – taking maps off Legacy and FURIA, and beating The MongolZ and 9z Team.
Eternal Fire have been mostly quiet this season, competing in some lesser tournaments. They won Circuito Retake Season 12 in September and secured a silver medal at Journey Autumn 2026 in October, but all that proves little, given the quality of opponents they’ve had to face.
MIBR are a more proven team of the two, in better shape, and qualitatively well above Eternal Fire. Anything less than a 2-0 sweep will be a disappointment.
