The IEM Dallas 2025 group stage has ended with a massive day of Counter-Strike 2 action. Catch up on all the key details.
Following the final day of Counter-Strike action at IEM Dallas 2025, the playoff bracket is locked in, with some major names falling and upstarts surging into the spotlight.
Team Liquid’s shaky form continued as they bowed out early with a 9th–12th-place finish following a limp showing against Aurora. Despite an opening win over FaZe Clan, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek’s squad crumbled under pressure. Liquid’s map pool weaknesses were exploited across back-to-back Inferno picks, with Aurora taking full advantage. Clutch plays from Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş and Özgür “woxic” Eker cemented Liquid’s exit with a convincing 2-0 (13-7 on Inferno, 13-9 on Dust2).
Aurora, who had fallen to HEROIC just hours after arriving in Dallas, bounced back impressively. After eliminating Liquid, they exacted revenge over HEROIC in a rematch, overturning a one-sided loss on Train (3-13) with dominant wins on Dust2 (13-8) and Mirage (13-9). Standout efforts from Samet “jottAAA” Köklü and Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın saw the Turkish side power into playoffs.
Meanwhile, HEROIC’s own journey ended at the hands of a reinvigorated Aurora lineup, despite earlier overcoming FaZe 2-1. That win spelt the end of the road for Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s team, who couldn’t build on their Ancient victory. Despite a disappointing performance from star recruit Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, FaZe showed some promise ahead of their next outing at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
In Group A, GamerLegion punched their IEM Dallas playoff ticket with a gritty win over G2 Esports. The international mix, playing with Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand as a stand-in, impressed on Ancient and Nuke to edge out Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski’s squad 2-1. Oldřich “PR” Nový came up clutch with a game-turning performance on Nuke to complete their underdog run.
MOUZ secured a semifinal berth with a statement 2-0 win over Falcons. After demolishing them on Dust2 (13-4), MOUZ staged a stunning comeback on Mirage from 5-12 down to win in overtime, 16-12. Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás was unstoppable, posting monstrous numbers in both maps.
Elsewhere, Team Vitality survived a major upset scare against The MongolZ. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan saved the day with a pair of late heroics on Mirage to extend the team’s winning streak to 28 matches. Despite clear signs of fatigue and under-preparation, Vitality edged through 2-1 in a chaotic series that exposed several cracks in their form.
