Eintracht Spandau have revealed their first major partnership since inception, securing a deal with food delivery brand Uber Eats.

As part of being a flagship sponsor, the Uber Eats logo will be boldly displayed on the front of the German esports team’s jersey. In the coming months, both parties will create a content format and strategy for content development and dissemination.

Eintracht Spandau were founded in the final quarter of 2021 by a popular gaming influencer, Maximilian Knabe. They have a competitive League of Legends team that has hit the ground running, qualifying for the European Masters tournament in its very first appearance. The organization claims to draw inspiration for its brand tone, fan engagement, and merchandising from football.

Uber Eats’ Press Officer in Germany, Friedrich Kabler, praised Eintracht Spandau for their extraordinary performances in the German Prime League, as well as the rapid growth of their supporter base.

“Eintracht Spandau has not only turned the German Prime League upside down with its performances, but with an unconventional and entertaining manner, with a huge fan base gathered behind them in a very short time,” he said.

Kabler added that both parties will be creating authentic content that will appeal to the esports community in Germany.

“Together we want to make our growing offer in 27 cities with authentic content productions appealing to the esports community in Germany. We firmly believe that with Eintracht Spandau, we are establishing a pioneer for the international esports industry with regard to content production,”

 he said.

Uber Eats already has a huge footprint in the sports and esports industries.

The high-profile delivery company is the naming sponsor of the premier French professional football league, Ligue 1. It is aiding in the facilitation of the official Ligue 1 esports tournament. Uber Eats has also sponsored a Ligue 1 team, Olympique de Marseille, and has collaborated with Spacestation Gaming.

The partnership between Eintracht Spandau and Uber East was facilitated by Sportfive. The sports marketing agency has been a regular name within the esports space in recent times. Among its list of partners are Immortals, NYXL, and Fnatic.
