The BLUEJAYS Counter-Strike 2 organisation have started their roster rebuild by releasing four active members. Read on to find out all the key details.
BLUEJAYS announced the departure of three players and a coach from their Counter-Strike 2 roster as the first step towards a major roster rebuild.
Billed as the turning point of BLUEJAYS’ CS2 roster, the team released Gavin “Fruitcupx” Norman, Keller “SLIGHT” Nilan, Wyatt “snav” Phillippi, and coach Matthew “Warden” Dickens.
The exodus leaves BLUEJAYS with only one active player on their lineup, Adam “freshie” Paterson, around whom the team will build a new roster.
The announcement comes a week after BLUEJAYS waved goodbye to Kyle “Wolffe” Greenfield, the first departure of the 2025 season.
Wolffe left BLUEJAYS just a day after the team crashed out of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 North American Regional Qualifier, where they came one game short of booking their tickets for the Major.
The failed run through the Major qualifiers was just one of many disappointing results the BLUEJAYS have produced this season.
BLUEJAYS entered the Counter-Strike scene in February with the signing of the BOSS roster and shortly after won their first and only tournament – Fragadelphia x Block 2025.
Over the next two months, BLUEJAYS have consistently come short of qualifying for big events.
Even in lesser online tournaments, they regularly fell flat in the final stages.
More recently, freshie and co. placed fourth at ESL Challenger League Season 49: North America and exited Thunderpick World Championship 2025: North American Series #1 in third-fourth place.
Despite the lack of accomplishments, the three departed players have been posting solid individual numbers.
SLIGHT ended his stint with BLUEJAYS with a 1.05 performance rating, behind Fruitcupx at 1.10 and snav at 1.12.
BLUEJAYS have yet to reveal any details about the new Counter-Strike 2 roster. Meanwhile, SLIGHT, snav, Fruitcupx, and Warden have yet to comment on whether they have found a new home.
