On Wednesday, July 8, Aurora Gaming finalised their Counter-Strike 2 roster rebuild with the signing of Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski.

The Macedonian in-game leader joins Aurora Gaming as the third new signing of the month, following the arrivals of Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo and coach Ashley “ashhh” Battye.

The 26-year-old replaces Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli as the new in-game leader for Aurora, who initiated a major roster rebuild at the end of June, including the departures of coach Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı and Caner “soulfly” Kesici, both of whom have since been put on the bench.

The moves follow Aurora’s promising run at the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major, where the Turkish squad lost in the semifinals against FURIA.

It was, however, only Aurora’s third deep tournament run of the season, after a runner-up finish at ESL Pro League Season 23 and a top-four placement at BLAST Open Spring.

With three new faces, Aurora Gaming transition to an international roster, hoping to find more success in the second half of the season.

A lot of the expectations will be placed on the new in-game leader, who spent over a year with Team Falcons and found success in some of the biggest events on the calendar.

Since joining Team Falcons in January 2025, kyxsan accomplished plenty in the upper echelons of competitive CS, leading Falcons to a tournament title at PGL Bucharest 2025.

Despite hoisting only one trophy in a Falcons jersey, the Macedonian strategist also left a mark in other events, winning six S-Tier silver medals.

Having struggled to lead Falcons to more gold medals, kyxsan was replaced in April, when Falcons announced the blockbuster signing of Finn “karrigan” Andersen, who has since helped the team break the curse by winning IEM Cologne Major.

Now in a new environment, kyxsan will hope he can help Aurora build on the momentum they have gained in recent months, with his first challenge just around the corner.

kyxsan will debut as Aurora Gaming’s new IGL at BLAST Bounty Spring, set to kick off on July 21.

There, Aurora will join 31 other Counter-Strike 2 teams in a battle for one of eight tickets leading to the LAN Finals, set for July 30-August 2 at BLAST Arena Studios in Attard, Malta.
