Atlanta FaZe have added Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat as their new assault-rifler in preparation for the 2023 Call of Duty League season. FaZe made the announcement on their Twitter page, revealing that the new player was brought in to replace Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, with whom they parted ways earlier this month.

The player took to Twitter to announce his new team: “Super excited for the opportunity to play with these players under this organization. Never been so ready for a new season to start.”

SlasheR is a 2016 COD world champion, a title he clinched in his time with Team Envy. He is most notable within the COD community for his time representing FaZe Clan, Team Envy, and Denial Esports. The player’s return to FaZe to complete the team’s roster comes after exiting the franchise seven years ago.

The 27-year old previously won back-to-back tournaments (CWL London 2019 and CWL Anaheim 2019) during Black Ops 4 while with 100 Thieves. In the 2019 CWL Championship, he was a match away from clinching the title with 100T, but suffered a defeat to eUnited.

He has, however, found it difficult to make any significant achievements on the CDL scene since 2019.

SlasheR has since then moved a lot, having represented OpTic Los Angeles, Los Angeles Thieves, and Los Angeles Guerrillas before ending up with FaZe. However, he was able to win the 2022 COD Stage 2 Major while with the LA Thieves – their first Call of Duty tournament victory.

Despite winning the Major 2 tournament with the Los Angeles Guerrillas, they were unable to qualify for the 2022 CDL Championship. The franchise finished at the bottom of the standings.

The player’s move to FaZe has given him the opportunity not only to be a part of the 2022 CDL Championship, but also to play in a team that has always featured in the tournament’s grand finals.

Earlier this month, FaZe parted ways with Arcitys, one of their top players, who went on to join the ranks of the LA Guerrillas. The player was with FaZe for two seasons prior and won several events in Black Ops Cold War with the team.

He also won the 2021 COD Champs. However, FaZe were unable to win a Vanguard tournament this year and only placed second in four events. This prompted the organization to proceed with an even trade with the LA Guerrillas, exchanging their main assault-rifle players.

While SlasheR featured with FaZe at the beginning of his career, this is the first time he will be working alongside the members of the franchise’s current roster. He has, however, gone against them several times. FaZe’s Tiny Terrors, Chris “Simp” Lehr, and Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris faced off against SlasheR during his time with 100 Thieves and stopped the player from winning his second ring.

McArthur “Cellium” Jovel has also gone up against SlasheR in his time with 100 Thieves and almost cost the team a place early on at the 2019 CDL Championship.
