VCT Pacific Stage 2 Playoffs begin with the VALORANT Masters Santiago grand final rematch, when Nongshim RedForce stomped Paper Rex 3-0.

The rematch is expected to go the other way, with the best esports bookmakers listing RedForce as +100 underdogs.

There are reasons to believe that Paper Rex should get their revenge. While they have not played a single game since the regular season, Paper Rex lost to RedForce last time out in a different meta, when Yoru and Neon were very strong agents.

Nongshim RedForce performed slightly worse in the group stage, placing fourth in Group Alpha with a 2-3 record, one win less than Paper Rex, who placed second in Group Omega.

Since then, RedForce have shown good things, beating Team Secret and T1 in the Play-In, so form is not an issue.

Nongshim RedForce have been looking very good, but Paper Rex have shown a higher ceiling of late, and they have had plenty of time to prepare for this match.

Global Esports are slight favourites to defeat DRX on Wednesday and end DRX’s three-game winning streak, which they gained in the Play-In with wins against ONSIDE GAMING, ZETA DIVISION, and Sharper Esports.

DRX have looked better in the Play-In compared to the group stage, but they have also come very close to losing both games against ZETA and Sharper.

So, their situation is not as great as DRX’s record might suggest.

Global Esports return to the arena after a long break, having skipped the Play-In due to securing a direct bye.

This can work against them, but with a manageable break, Global Esports should be better prepared, and they now have plenty of film on DRX to look over.

Long breaks are not always optimal, but DRX have not shown enough of late to be considered a threat for Global Esports.
