Natus Vincere had a rough start to the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational, losing to one of the tournament’s weakest teams, RED Canids. However, the LoL EMEA Championship representatives picked themselves up in the second round, crushing FlyQuest 2-0.
HAJIN BRION started the event strong, with a convincing victory against JD Gaming. But they could not make it past the high-flying Team WE in the second round and lost 1-2.
BRION and Natus Vincere have had two very different experiences. BRION had to face two of the tournament’s best teams, and Natus Vincere had the luxury of being paired with RED Canids and FlyQuest, so it is hard to view their 1-1 records equally.
Natus Vincere are not a weak team, but they are hardly more than a mid-table squad from the LEC. Meanwhile, HAJIN BRION hail from one of the world’s strongest leagues and are much more stable and less volatile than NAVI.
The biggest advantage BRION has, however, is their style of play, as they rely more on mid-to-late game and a slow, controlled approach. This can only be punished by explosive early-game teams, which Natus Vincere are not.

According to the latest odds on the best LoL bookmakers, this is expected to be a close and competitive game.
On paper, JD Gaming appear stronger, but they are playing with two stand-ins, mid laner Xiang “Angel” Tao and Fang “Xiaofang” Zheyu. Neither fit in with JD Gaming’s slow style of play, which has caused iffy displays from the team in the first two rounds of play.
JD Gaming did do better against Shopify Rebellion on Monday, but they also outclassed the North American team individually, so that game proves very little.
LGD Gaming kicked off their 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational campaign with a win over FlyQuest, but stumbled against BNK FEARX, which is hardly surprising considering LoL Pro League’s quality is a fair bit below LoL Champions Korea’s.
This, on the other hand, is a clash between two Chinese teams who last met in August, when LGD won 2-1. JD Gaming have since shown improvement, but with two replacement players, it is hard to make a solid case for them.
This is a scrappy game in the making.

Team Vitality lost their first match of the tournament against BNK FEARX. They held in there for a while, but were too far behind to make much of an impact in the mid-late game. After a rough start to the event, the Bees bounced back with a 2-0 win against GAM Esports, which is nothing to write home about.
RED Canids upset Natus Vincere in the first round of the Demacia Cup Global Invitational, but were not nearly as successful against KT Rolster in the second round and lost 0-2. Despite going 1-1, this is still one of the weakest teams in the tournament, and even their upset win was more NAVI shooting themselves in the foot than anything else.
Team Vitality can be unreliable and are more than capable of turning into a pumpkin. But it is hard to go against the raw quality difference here.
