LOUD and Cloud9 were not viewed as serious VCT Americas title contenders heading into Stage 1, and neither side has done much to change that view. Both enter this matchup with a 1-2 record and still have plenty of work to do if they want to stay in the playoff race.
Despite the identical record, Cloud9 appear to be in a better spot. They come into Week 4 off a huge upset win over MIBR, taking both Breeze and Split 14-12 in what was easily their best performance of the stage so far.
That one result does not completely erase the concerns from their losses to ENVY and Leviatan, but it did show a possible way forward. Cloud9 leaned into a double-duelist approach against MIBR, and that setup looked much more natural for this roster.
LOUD, meanwhile, have not shown the same signs of improvement. Their level has remained fairly flat across the stage, and Roberto “erde” Lobos’s visa issues mean they are still forced to play with a stand-in. That makes an already difficult matchup even harder to trust.
Cloud9 still have more to prove, but after the MIBR result, they look like the side with more upside and a clearer path to victory. At -163.93 on the best VALORANT bookmakers, they are the right pick.

G2 Esports and ENVY both sit at 1-2 after the first three weeks of VCT Americas Stage 1, but the records do not tell the whole story. G2 have looked far stronger across their matches, even if the results have not always gone their way.
Their two losses came in competitive series against MIBR and Leviatan, while their lone victory was a clean 2-0 sweep of LOUD. That body of work is much more encouraging than what ENVY have put together so far.
ENVY’s only win came in Week 2, when they edged past Cloud9. Outside of that, they have struggled in losses to LOUD and Leviatan, with their attacking halves looking particularly shaky.
That is a major concern against G2, who remain one of the stronger teams in the region despite the slow start. Their structure is cleaner, their ceiling is higher, and they have already shown enough to suggest their record should improve quickly.
G2 deserve to be heavy favourites here, and the map handicap is the best way to play it. If they avoid the slow starts that hurt them earlier in the stage, this should be a clean win.
