After an explosive start to the split, which saw KT Rolster string together eight victories, they seem to have hit a wall. Following their loss to Hanwha Life Esports at the start of Week 5, KT also suffered a bad 0-2 defeat against HAJIN BRION on Sunday.
KT Rolster’s downturn felt overdue. They are still a quality team, but their scaling-heavy style has always carried risk, especially once the rest of the league gets a better read on the meta and starts punishing slower early games.
The warning signs became even harder to ignore when HAJIN BRION, who are not exactly known for explosive early pressure, managed to find openings and run away with the series. That makes this a very dangerous spot against Dplus KIA, who have more than enough tools to attack KT’s weak points.
Dplus KIA can be unpredictable, but they are not as error-prone as KT have looked recently, and they have the mid-game quality to punish mistakes once they get ahead. Seeing KT still priced as favourites does not make much sense given their current form.
At even money on the top bookmakers, Dplus KIA are the clear value side.

HAJIN BRION enter Week 6 off an excellent showing against KT Rolster, who they swept 2-0 on Sunday. While beating this version of KT may not be as impressive as it would have looked a few weeks ago, BRION still deserve credit for how they played.
That win also followed a strong performance against DN SOOPers two days earlier, so there is at least some momentum building. BRION have not been especially memorable across the first five weeks, but lately they have looked more disciplined, made fewer unforced errors, and done a better job of taking the openings opponents give them.
BNK FEARX snapped their three-game losing streak on Sunday with a win over DN SOOPers, but that result does not move the needle much. Kim “Taeyoon” Tae-yoon had a promising debut, yet FEARX still looked a little sloppy when closing out the series.
On paper, FEARX might still have the better pieces, but they have not shown enough lately to justify being clear favourites. This looks much closer to a 50/50 match, and with BRION finally showing signs of life, the underdog price is worth taking.
