FaZe Clan advances to the Blast World Final 2022 after defeating ENCE to become the ESL Pro League Season 15 Champion

The ESL Pro League Season 15 grand finale took place in Dusseldorf, Germany on Sunday, as FaZe Clan went head-to-head against ENCe for the chance to become title champions.

The finals ended in a game of four series with FaZe Clan clinching the win, becoming the ESL Pro League Season 15 winners.

Their achievement will be rewarded with a cash prize of $190,000, alongside a direct qualification into the BLAST Premier World Final 2022. The BLAST World Final is scheduled to take place on December 14 – 18, 2022, with a prize pool of $1,000,000 at a to be determined location.

The contest will feature eight teams, to be shared into a group of two, with FaZe Clan being the first team to qualify.

FaZe Clan is on a row, having just won their first CS:GO tournament slightly over a month ago. FaZe had swept G2 Esports in the Finals of one of the biggest CS:GO tournaments, the IEM Katowice 2022 on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

A second CS:GO title in their catalog in barely two months says a lot about how good of a team captain Finn “karrigan” Andersen and the lads are.

Their journey to the ESL Pro League Finals has not entirely been an easy road as they have had to suffer two losses in the group stage to ENCE and Virtus.pro. But blazed through Natus Vincere and FURIA in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively, to seal a spot in the Finals against ENCE. They were the favorite to win on major esports betting sites, with 1XBET pegging FaZe Clan at a moneyline odd of -142.86.

Vertigo, Overpass, Mirage, and Dust2 were the maps selected by both teams, with Vertigo and Mirage accorded to ENCE and Overpass and Dust2 to FaZe Clan. ENCE removed Inferno and FaZe did the same to Nuke, leaving Ancient out of the selection.

Vertigo being the first map started with FaZe claiming victory with a 16-11 record, trashing ENCE in their selection right off the bat. ENCE, however, put up a good show taking the second map (Overpass) to FaZe, winning in overtime with a 19-17 stat.

FaZe took the lead yet again in Mirage with a 16-9 score and then went on to seal off the game with a 16-12 score in Dusk2.

ENCE’s defeat saw them leave with a $90,000 prize for coming out in second place. Their run through to the Finals has been almost perfect, as they only suffered a group-stage loss to FURIA. The Finnish esports organization have recorded total winnings of $1.3 million.
