The opening week of action at the 2025 Esports World Cup is now complete, with four tournaments finishing over the weekend. A champion was crowned for the EWC events in Rennsport, VALORANT, Fatal Fury and Apex Legends. Meanwhile, the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2 events will continue into the second week of the festival.
The final days of the VALORANT Esports World Cup featured the semifinals, third-place decider and the grand final.
Following those matches, Team Heretics claimed the title after defeating Fnatic in the grand final.
The Apex Legends Esports World Cup event, also known as the ALGS Midseason Playoffs, finished on Sunday, with the Finals being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
With nine of the 10 matches of the Finals taking place, seven teams were on Match Point going into what would be the last match. However, it was VK Gaming who claimed the title with a game nine victory.
Following the conclusion of the Finals Bracket, Goichi “GO1” Kishida from DetonatioN FocusMe claimed the Fatal Fury Esports World Cup title after defeating Zeng “Xiaohai” Zhuojun 5-3 in the grand final.

Over the weekend, the Dota 2 Esports World Cup elimination phase took place, with each of the second-, third- and fourth-place teams from the group stage competing for four playoff spots.
PARIVSION, Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra Esports and Team Falcons advanced to the playoffs, which will kick off on July 15.

After the Wildcard Stage finished on Saturday, the Crossover matches took place on Sunday, where Virtus.pro won their way into the Group Stage. VP defeated Rare Atom in the best-of-five grand final with a 3-1 scoreline.
