The Call of Duty League (CDL) 2025 Stage 4 is just around the corner, and with a new stage comes map pool changes, which will target the Hardpoint game mode.
The third stage of the 2025 Call of Duty esports season came to a close on Monday when Los Angeles Thieves swept Vancouver Surge in the grand final to claim their first Major trophy of the season.
In preparation for the season’s final stage, the CDL has decided to revamp Hardpoint with the removal of Protocol in favour of Rewind.

This is not the first time Rewind-Hardoint will be in the competitive map pool.
The map was removed in December after just two weeks of action to make room for Hacienda, which has since become a staple map of the CDL.
During its short time in the active pool, Rewind was played by just eight of 12 teams – excluding Carolina Royal Ravens, Toronto Ultra, OpTic Texas, and Vegas Falcons.
Los Angeles Thieves were the most successful team on the map, with a 3-1 record, while Atlanta FaZe, Boston Breach, Los Angeles Guerrillas, and Miami Heretics played on the map just once, with a 100% win rate.
The re-addition of Rewind will freshen up the competitive map pool; however, some of the top teams will not be happy with the removal of Protocol — namely Atlanta FaZe (83%), OpTic Texas (75%), LA Thieves (71%), and Miami Heretics (57%), who were the top-performing teams on the map throughout the season.
CDL 2025 Stage 4 kicks off on Friday, May 2, 2025, with the first round of Major 4 Qualifiers.
