Riyadh Falcons and Miami Heretics have managed only one victory each this stage, leaving both teams in real danger of missing out on a top-eight finish before CDL Major 3.
Miami Heretics have dropped matches against Los Angeles Thieves and G2 Minnesota, with their only win coming against FaZe Vegas. Riyadh Falcons have had a similar start, losing to Toronto KOI and FaZe Vegas while beating Vancouver Surge.
The difference is that Riyadh Falcons have had the easier schedule and are already 0-1 down in the head-to-head against Miami Heretics. With that in mind, it is no surprise to see the top CoD bookmakers pricing Heretics as favourites.
Miami have not been flawless this stage, and their respawns have shown some cracks. That is at least one area the Falcons can look to attack. Still, Riyadh have been shaky for much longer, and there is not enough in their recent form to make them an appealing underdog.
Heretics are not a perfect team, but they look like the more reliable side in this matchup and should have enough to get the job done.

Paris Gentle Mates and OpTic Texas have already met three times this season. The most recent clash ended in OpTic’s favour, 3-2, after they also defeated Gentle Mates at the CDL Dallas Major before losing the grand final rematch.
OpTic are 2-1 up in the head-to-head, but the last two meetings have both gone the distance. That says plenty about how close this matchup can be when both teams show up.
OpTic Texas have been the stronger team over the last few weeks, winning eight of their last 10 outings. They deserve to be favoured, but the market looks a little too far in their direction for a matchup that has consistently been tight.
Paris Gentle Mates have been ramping up and look ready to push OpTic again. Their recent form is not quite as strong as Texas’, but they have already shown they can take this opponent to the final map.
At +225, Gentle Mates are a solid longshot pick in what should be a much closer game than the odds suggest.
| Best Odds | Surge +300 at BetOnline | KOI -454.55 at SportsBetting |

Vancouver Surge are +300 underdogs to defeat Toronto KOI on Friday, giving them a 25% implied probability of causing the upset. That feels about right.
Surge have shown some signs of life this stage, winning two of their four matches, but their performances last week were far from convincing. More importantly, they are 0-3 down in the head-to-head against Toronto KOI this season.
That matchup history matters. Toronto KOI appear to have figured Vancouver out, and there has not been much from the Surge to suggest they are suddenly ready to flip the script.
KOI have been building momentum, have no glaring weaknesses, and have yet to show any real signs of struggle against Dylan “Nero” Koch and his new crew. While an upset is not impossible, it is hard to doubt Toronto’s chances of making it four straight wins in this head-to-head.
The moneyline is short, but KOI on the map handicap is still playable at the offered price.
