Paper Rex part ways with Jinggg and d4v41 after a disappointing VALORANT Champions 2026 campaign, leaving three players on the roster.
Paper Rex have announced the departure of Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie and Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, who leave the Singaporean VALORANT team after a disappointing season.
The roster changes follow Paper Rex’s underwhelming performance at VALORANT Champions 2026, which they exited in seventh-eighth place, with a 1-2 loss against T1 in the lower bracket.
Jinggg’s departure marks the end of his stint with Paper Rex, whom he joined in September 2021, just months after d4v41, who has been the longest-serving player on the team, having signed his contract in February earlier that year.
The duo played a key role in Paper Rex emerging as one of the most recognizable names in the upper echelons of competitive VALORANT, namely in 2023, when Paper Rex won the VCT Pacific League, secured a bronze medal at Masters Tokyo, and ended the season with a runner-up finish at VALORANT Champions.
With the two players, Paper Rex continued making waves in the VALORANT scene, with 2025 marking their biggest season yet. Last year, Paper Rex won VALORANT Masters Toronto, VCT Pacific Stage 2, and placed fourth at VALORANT Champions.
The Pacific squad managed to carry over the momentum into 2026, with runner-up finishes in Masters Santiago and London, and a gold medal from Stage 1. However, their form in the first half of the season dried out, as Paper Rex started to struggle in the summer.
Despite finishing the Esports World Cup in 13th-16th and Pacific Stage 2 in fifth-sixth, Paper Rex entered VALORANT Champions as one of the top contenders to go all the way. That, however, did not work out, with Jinggg, d4v41, and their crew crashing out in the first round of the playoffs.
With Jinggg and d4v41 out of the roster, Paper Rex are down to three members ahead of the VCT 2027 season, which is set to start on January 11. However, with many other VCT teams making changes during the offseason, Paper Rex should have plenty of options to fill in the gaps and start their campaign for the elusive VALORANT Champions trophy.
