Team Spirit welcome back Zont1x and Magixx

On Thursday, December 18, Team Spirit have announced two changes for their Counter-Strike 2 roster, welcoming back Boris “magixx” Vorobiev and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia.

The two benched players were reinstated to Spirit’s main roster as replacements for Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov and Ivan “zweih” Gogin, who will not be a part of the active lineup in 2026.

The changes follow a painful semifinal exit from the StarLadder Budapest Major, where Spirit admitted defeat to the eventual champions, Team Vitality.

The Major exit was, however, just one of many disappointing results in the second half of the season, which already resulted in some roster changes.

Notably, Spirit have won just four S-Tier events throughout the season, two with magixx on the active lineup and two with zweih as his replacement – Intel Extreme Masters Cologne and BLAST Bounty Fall.

Magixx was cut from the roster after BLAST.tv Austin Major, albeit changes were on the horizon before that.

As explained by coach Sergey “hally” Shavaev, Spirit intended to resolve their issues by adding two promising players. But while they have found some success with zweih and Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich, Spirit haven’t reached the expected heights.

Alongside magixx, who will be taking over as a new in-game leader, Spirit also welcomed back zont1x, who has been sitting on the bench since September.

He was a part of Spirit’s three S-Tier tournament title runs, including BLAST Bounty Fall, before he got removed in favor of tN1R.

Zweih and chopper, while still a part of Spirit’s roster, are currently benched, with no announcement of whether they will relocate to a new team before the start of a new season.

Team Spirit are set to debut their new-look roster in the BLAST Bounty Winter closed qualifiers, set to kick off on January 12.
