XYZVerse launches CS2 League as crypto and esports collide

A lucrative new Counter-Strike 2 competition is set to launch, backed by new crypto initiative XYZVerse.

XYZVerse launches CS2 esports league

XYZVerse recently announced its new initiative, a US$5.5 million Counter-Strike league, with winners set to be paid out in a mixture of cash and the project’s native token.

While traditional sports stars might shy away from such pioneering events, the esports community is set to embrace the new CS2 competition, which is set to feature 10 teams and have some key differences to other major pro gaming tours.

The XYZVerse CS2 League was announced to provide buzz around the XYZ token presale, with it already surpassing $15million raised, with only a couple of stages left before it is completed.

The buzz created by the new CS2 league and XYZVerse’s unique structure, which is attempting to bring esports, fan engagement and blockchain technology via a unified utility token, has the real potential to change the esports ecosystem for the better.

CS2 fans have been left disappointed multiple times in recent years with many teams not playing at the lucrative PGL events, with franchises opting instead for the more friendly IEM FACEIT tournaments despite having less prize money.

So an alternative esports ecosystem driven by the fans, who can make statements with their money, will definitely have appeal to fans disgruntled by giant companies taking away the community feel of gaming.

The CS2 competition will incorporate on-chain voting, rewards, and collectibles, enhancing fan and token holder engagement in the gaming experience. XYZVerse is also focused on creating a tokenized entertainment ecosystem, offering real utility through staking, governance, and airdrops for its holders.

While details are limited, 10 teams will compete, each comprising three influencers, one founder from the project, and one community member selected via lottery. Fans can buy an Access Pass for 100 USDT, which grants map-voting rights, match-prediction access, exclusive collectibles, and even the chance to join a team as the community slot.

The prize pool is funded from three main sources: a US$500,000 cash seed, a 5 million token grant, and 10 per cent of Access Pass sales. The rewards are distributed with the winning team receiving 70% of the pool, 20 % for runners-up, and 10 % for the third place.

XYZVerse has announced Bookmaker.XYZ, the first fully on-chain decentralized sportsbook and casino, as an official ecosystem partner. The crypto bookie accepts XYZ tokens, Bitcoin, Ethereum and other popular coins.

No teams or players have been announced as playing in the rebel CS2 competition as of October 20, 2025.
