Former ENCE coach Jakub “kuben” Gurczyński will exercise his free agency rights.

Polish Counter-Strike 2 coach Jakub “kuben” Gurczyński ended his stint with ENCE on Friday, following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
Kuben leaves ENCE after spending over a year on ENCE’s sidelines. He was removed from his position as a head coach in August 2024 and replaced by Niclas “enkay J” Krumhorn following a long stretch of underwhelming results.
The 37-year-old skipper joined ENCE in late 2023 as a replacement for Eetu “sAw” Saha and one of the key pieces of ENCE’s new roster after the team lost their star players to Team Falcons.
Initially, ENCE found success with kuben. They reached the semifinals of Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 in December and reached the playoffs at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, 2024 in February.
That, however, proved to be nothing more than a flash in the pan, as ENCE could not find much success in the following big events. They notably suffered an early elimination from PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
Midway through the year, kuben led ENCE to another semifinal appearance at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024 — the final time ENCE would break a top-five with the Pole in charge.
Kuben was removed from ENCE’s active roster after the team missed out on the Shanghai Major and has since remained on the bench.
Now, over a year later, the Polish strategist enters free agency, seeking a new home and an opportunity to continue his long and illustrious coaching career, which began in 2015 with Virtus.pro.
