Gen.G will face off against Hanwha Life Esports in Round 3 of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2025 Road to MSI this Friday, when the two Korean juggernauts will battle it out for a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational and Esports World Cup.

Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports were in a class of their own in the LCK 2025 Rounds 1-2 regular season, ending the group stage at 18-0 and 14-4, respectively.

Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon and co. ended the regular season having lost just five maps out of 41 played — only one of which they dropped against HLE, in the penultimate week of play.

That game could easily have ended in a 2-0 sweep for Gen.G; however, they could not find a response to Park “Viper” Do-hyeon’s full-build Ezreal on map two.

The main takeaway from that match was that Gen.G are extremely good at punishing even the smallest mistakes. Even when their opponents do not make errors, Gen.G can always count on the individual talent of their players to create opportunities.

Admittedly, Gen.G slowed down a bit in the latter stages of the regular season, but that was when they were already guaranteed the No.1 seed for the playoffs.

Gen.G are an absolute unit and arguably the best-performing team in the world. Hanwha Life Esports are close but not quite as clean or efficient, and the latest odds on the best LoL betting sites show it.

With side choice, Gen.G should close it out on no more than four maps.
