Tricia Sugita has been appointed to Cloud9 as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), just a few days after stepping down from her position as CEO of FlyQuest.

The news was delivered in the form of a video that was published on Cloud9’s Twitter account. In the clip, the company’s founder and CEO, Jack Etienne, introduces the new member of the team.

Cloud9 is one of the most well-known esports brands in the entire globe. The company runs competitive teams in a wide range of titles, including Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch (London Spitfire), and League of Legends.

Sugita will be reporting directly to Etienne from the headquarters of Cloud9, which are located in Santa Monica, California. She will, according to the organization, oversee the worldwide marketing operations of the organization across all sectors, such as promotions and product launches from partners.

“There’s something about Cloud9 that is incredibly exciting, and Jack is someone who I’ve known and respected for a while now,” Sugita said to Sports Business Journal.

“I’ve worked in esports for a long time, but I think this may be the first time that I’ve felt truly unlimited in my potential. I’ve always had this mission to spread happiness and joy to people wherever I go, and I’m thrilled to be able to deliver that to our fans on a global scale here.”

Meanwhile, Sugita will be striving to improve the Cloud9 brand while also advancing the company’s objective of winning championships, growing its audience, and offering players and employees aid, coaching, and perks that are the best in their business.

Sugita said in the announcement video: “I will be working on brand, on company vision, and will share with you guys our ‘why’. Our ‘why’ is the most important: Why we got into esports, why we have this brand, why is it that we do the things we do, the titles that we bring, and also the initiatives that we launch.”

In addition to this, Sugita is well-known for his ardent commitment to environmental protection. She is the founder of a number of projects, some of which include the planting of trees and the rescue of marine life and other animals through initiatives such as SeaQuest and BeeQuest. Ikebana, which is the Japanese art of flower arranging, is something that Sugita teaches as well.

“I’ve worked in esports for a long time, but I think this may be the 1st time that I’ve felt truly unlimited in my potential. I’ve always had this mission to spread happiness and joy to people wherever I go, and I’m thrilled to be able to deliver that to our fans,” Sugita said on Twitter.

On social media, Cloud9’s devoted followers reacted positively to the news.

According to Etienne: “I’m very excited that Tricia is joining us because she truly understands the Cloud9 brand. And while I’m focusing on putting together the next big team, she will make sure Cloud9 is looking good.”
