LNG Esports and Bilibili Gaming will clash on Wednesday, August 17, in the first round of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2022 Summer Playoffs, marking their second meeting of the split and first since June.
LNG Esports finished the regular season in seventh place with a 8-8 record and a 50% map win rate, which was slightly disappointing relative to the expectations. However, based on what we’ve seen from LNG this season, they can be considered lucky to finish so high.
LNG are the prime example of a team who are much worse than their numbers, and the eye test would confirm that. They are very disorganised, likely due to their poor communication, and struggle with vision control around neutral objectives.
Bilibili Gaming are in a similar spot. They are sloppy in their games, and while we have seen them produce some good play, that’s been very scarce. Even in the series Bilibili Gaming won, they have not shown any consistency.
Although LNG Esports have achieved more this split, we still don’t understand why they are priced as -250 favourites with BetOnline. Although side selection will help them, this is still a very winnable game for Bilibili Gaming.
Over 4.5 maps looks like a smart play, but at the offered LoL betting odds, we will trust Bilibili Gaming.
