Since Man City Esports picked up Enzo “Seikoo” Grondein, they have started to pick up some steam. Two top-four finishes in EU Open 4 and 5 were promising, although their ninth-12th-place finish at EU Open 6 does add some doubt before the Paris Major.

That recent slip-up puts a question mark above Man City Esports, but their raw quality is undeniable. On paper, this is still a roster capable of making a deep run if everything clicks.

MIBR are an established roster who have been fighting FURIA for the title of South America’s best team. They have placed second in three Open events and won two more this season, which gives them enough credibility to challenge stronger regional opponents.

Their Boston Major run was underwhelming, but MIBR have shown enough domestically to suggest they can push the European squad. At plus money, they are worth taking.

NRG vs FIVE FEARS

Five Fears are one of the weakest teams at the Paris Major, and they open against one of the current top contenders on the outright markets. That alone points to a massive quality gap.

As the undisputed best squad from the Sub-Saharan African league, Five Fears will want to make their region proud. However, they have very little experience against teams of this level.

Their 0-3 run at the Boston Major showed that Five Fears do not yet have the tools to succeed against elite teams, and NRG already swept them 3-0 in February.

Another clean NRG win looks likely, making the map handicap the best way to approach this matchup.

KARMINE CORP vs FUT ESPORTS

Best OddsKC -625 at BetOnline | FUT +350 at SportsBetting
WhenMay 20, 2026 | 15:00 CEST
Watch LiveTwitch

Karmine Corp head to Paris with a point to prove after a fairly underwhelming season. The 2026 world championship semifinalists have managed only one Open title and two silver medals, recently ending EU Open 6 in fifth-sixth.

FUT Esports are one of the more consistent Rocket League teams from North America, but they are still a step below the region’s elite. They placed second in NA Open 5 and reached the top four in Open 4 and 6.

FUT are experienced, and Karmine Corp are not in perfect shape. However, KC know how to lift their level on LAN, and FUT have yet to prove they can consistently deliver against top teams.

Karmine Corp should have enough quality and big-stage experience to win this with room to spare.

TEAM VITALITY vs WILDCARD

Wildcard head to Paris as Oceania’s top team, having recently won OCE Open 6. That is a strong domestic result, but Wednesday’s opener is a major step up in class.

Team Vitality will play in front of a home crowd and will want to improve on their Boston Major performance. They appear to be in great shape, with a gold medal from Open 6 adding to their earlier success in Open 4.

Wildcard should not be completely underestimated, but this is a very difficult matchup against one of the strongest teams in the world.

Vitality should be too strong in front of their home fans, and the map handicap offers the better value than the short moneyline.

GENTLE MATES vs FURIA

Best OddsM8 -500 at BetOnline | FURIA +333 at SportsBetting

The defending Major champions, Gentle Mates, have put together a solid run over the last month, winning the EU Open 5 title and placing second in Open 6.

They head to Paris as one of the leading title contenders and should not struggle against anyone outside the small group of elite teams at the event.

FURIA remain one of South America’s top teams, having won SAM Open 4, placed second in Open 5, and made the semifinals of Open 6. However, their form appears to have dipped over the last couple of months.

Their 1-2 run at the Boston Major does not inspire much confidence either. Gentle Mates are capable of slipping, but they are arguably the strongest team at the Major and should be too much for FURIA.

SPACESTATION GAMING vs R8 ESPORTS

Best OddsSSG -250 at BetOnline | R8 +175 at SportsBetting

R8 Esports are an interesting team. They have made noise in the MENA region, but their third-place finish at the Saudi eLeague, after a 1-3 loss to Stallions, does not inspire complete confidence.

Spacestation Gaming have been volatile as well, with top-four and second-place finishes in the recent NA Open 5 and 6. Even the eye test suggests SSG have not been as clean as expected.

SSG deserve to be favoured, but this does not look like a simple opener. R8 are volatile and unproven on LAN, yet they have enough upside to make this awkward.

This has the potential to turn into a scrappy series, making the over on maps the best betting angle.

NINJAS IN PYJAMAS vs TSM

Best OddsNiP -2000 at BetOnline | TSM +750 at SportsBetting
WhenMay 20, 2026 | 17:00 CEST
Watch LiveTwitch

Ninjas in Pyjamas are heavy favourites to defeat TSM, which should surprise no one. TSM are not among the top contenders at the Paris Major, mainly because they hail from the APAC region and remain unproven at this level.

Despite winning APAC Open 5 and 6, TSM have yet to prove they can compete on LAN against stronger international opponents. Their 0-3 run at the Boston Major does not help their case.

Ninjas in Pyjamas have more to prove after an early playoff exit in Boston, but they have been picking up steam with a silver medal from EU Open 4 and semifinal appearances in Open 5 and 6.

NiP should be too strong from the first game and look well placed to deliver a clean sweep.

Watch LiveTwitch

Twisted Minds have had plenty of shaky moments this season and nearly missed out on the Paris Major. Ahead of their trip to France, they attended Saudi eLeague Major 1 and placed fourth after losing to Team Stallions.

Between winning MENA Open 5 and Open 6, Twisted Minds have not done much to inspire confidence. They are still dangerous, but their form is not as convincing as the odds suggest.

Shopify Rebellion won NA Open 5 and reached the semifinals of NA Open 4 and 6, which is a much stronger recent body of work. Their only two losses came against NRG, and both went to map seven.

Shopify Rebellion enter the Paris Major in excellent form and look to be in their best shape of the season. They should not be priced as underdogs in this matchup.

Man City Esports are heavy favourites to defeat Five Fears on Wednesday, and considering the regions these two teams come from, that number is easy to understand.

Man City are not Europe’s top team and have not shown perfect form before the Major, but the quality and experience gap is significant.

Five Fears taking a map would be a surprise. Man City should be able to control this series from start to finish.

NRG are heavily favoured to defeat MIBR on Wednesday and are expected to get through this series comfortably. That is no surprise, as MIBR still need to prove themselves against elite squads of NRG’s level.

However, MIBR are not pushovers and could prove much more potent than the odds suggest. They have been one of South America’s strongest teams this season and should not be written off completely.

NRG are also known for slow starts, so there is a world where MIBR take one map off North America’s titans before the favourites settle into the series.

European rivals Team Vitality and Karmine Corp will go at it again on Wednesday in what should be one of the most entertaining affairs of the opening day.

The top Rocket League bookmakers have the two teams priced at the same odds, suggesting this is close to a coin flip. The historical results would support that view, although Vitality have been in slightly better shape recently.

From the two meetings this season, Vitality won the first online 4-1 but lost the rematch at the Boston Major 2-3. That LAN loss is a concern, but Vitality have since shown improved form.

These are two of Europe’s strongest teams and this should be tight, but Team Vitality get a slight nod to move ahead in the head-to-head.

WILDCARD vs FUT ESPORTS

Best OddsWildcard +175 at BetOnline | FUT -250 at SportsBetting
WhenMay 20, 2026 | 19:00 CEST
Watch LiveTwitch

Wildcard are priced as underdogs for this series, which makes sense only because they hail from a weaker region. In reality, this is a clash between North America’s third or fourth best team and Oceania’s best team, so it is not as straightforward as the odds suggest.

Wildcard have yet to feature in a LAN tournament this season, but they do have experience playing in bigger events. The same can be said about FUT, who have only competed in regional Open tournaments since the turn of the year.

Barring any surprises, FUT should win, but this does not look like a stomp. Expect a competitive game with enough back-and-forth to clear the map total.
