PGL Astana 2026

PGL Astana 2026 enters the playoff stage on Friday, May 15, with the first four fixtures, as MOUZ meet Aurora Gaming, Team Spirit take on G2 Esports, 9z Team clash with magic, and FURIA face Team Falcons.

If the Swiss Stage is any indication, the PGL Astana quarterfinals should produce four exciting brawls, offering plenty of Counter-Strike 2 betting opportunities to explore on the top-rated esports bookmakers.

MOUZ and Aurora Gaming will clash on Friday in a rematch from the fourth round of the Swiss Stage, where MOUZ came away with a 2-0 victory.

The scoreline looked clean enough, but the maps told a different story. MOUZ only edged Dust II 13-11 before needing overtime to close Nuke 19-15, so there was very little between the two teams in that meeting.

Aurora have since bounced back well, beating The MongolZ 13-11 on Overpass and 13-10 on Mirage. That win should give them confidence heading into another meeting with a MOUZ side they have already pushed hard this week.

This will be the third meeting between the teams this season. Aurora won the first clash in Krakow 2-0, while MOUZ got their revenge in Astana, although not convincingly enough to fully justify their current price.

MOUZ are the more experienced LAN team and deserve to be slight favourites, but Aurora Gaming have shown enough at this tournament to believe they can force another close contest. Over 2.5 maps is the best betting angle.

TEAM SPIRIT vs G2 ESPORTS

G2 Esports have reached the knockout stage of PGL Astana, as expected, but their road to the final eight was not pretty.

After sweeping Fisher College in the opening round, G2 were outclassed by MOUZ and The MongolZ. They then needed wins over PARIVISION and Monte to stay alive, which does not exactly inspire confidence heading into a meeting with Team Spirit.

Team Spirit, meanwhile, cruised through the Swiss Stage. They beat The Huns Esports, The MongolZ, and FURIA, and looked like one of the cleanest teams in the tournament while doing it.

Spirit are in better shape and have accomplished much more than G2 Esports this season, so it is no surprise to see the best CS2 bookmakers listing them as favourites.

G2 can be dangerous on their day, but they have yet to find success against Team Spirit this season. Based on how both teams looked in the Swiss Stage, that is unlikely to change here.

9z TEAM vs MAGIC

9z Team have managed to translate their strong regional form onto the bigger stage, cruising through the PGL Astana Swiss Stage with wins over PARIVISION, Team Falcons, and MOUZ.

A lot of their success has come from explosive performances by Luciano “luchov” Herrera and Franco “dgt” Garcia, who have been two of the highest-rated players at the tournament with 1.35 and 1.30 ratings, respectively.

Magic have also been one of the tournament’s better stories. They started the Swiss Stage 0-2 after losses to The MongolZ and Monte, but turned things around with wins over K27, HEROIC, and Gentle Mates.

That run deserves credit, but the schedule was fairly soft compared to what 9z had to deal with. Now magic are set for their toughest test yet against one of the most convincing teams in Astana.

9z Team have looked like the second-best team at the tournament behind Team Spirit. Barring a major surprise, they should continue their run with a convincing quarterfinal victory.

FURIA vs TEAM FALCONS

The final match of the day is also the most exciting one, as FURIA clash with Team Falcons for the fourth time this season and the first time since Intel Extreme Masters Rio, where Falcons won in a 2-0 sweep.

Team Falcons have yet to lose to FURIA this season, but the head-to-head record does not tell the full story. All three meetings were close, with both teams reaching double digits in seven of the eight maps played.

Both teams have also looked fairly even during the PGL Astana group stage, which makes it difficult to draw a clear line between them. Falcons deserve some respect for the head-to-head record, but FURIA have been competitive in every meeting.

As in previous clashes, this feels like it can go either way. With the two teams holding notably stronger map pools across three maps each, another three-map series looks very likely.
