Another week of esports kicks off on Monday, May 12, 2025, with Counter-Strike 2 taking centre stage.
After kicking off on Saturday, PGL Astana will be the headline esports event of the week, with 16 of the best CS2 teams competing in Kazakhstan for a US$1.25 million prize pool.
The Rainbow Six Siege RE:L0:AD event also kicked off on Saturday and will run through Sunday, May 18, with the top 20 R6 squads clashing on the international stage for the first time in 2025.
Meanwhile, the PUBG Corporation will host its second tournament of 2025 when the PUBG Global Series 8 event begins on Monday, May 12.
PGL Astana is scheduled to run from May 10-18, with the Swiss Stage taking place across the first five days of the event, before the playoffs begin on Friday, May 16.
Following the first two days of play, Team Spirit, The MongolZ and Natus Vincere, which were three of the four favourites with the best esports betting sites, have 2-0 records along with Astralis. Meanwhile, GamerLegion, M80, G2 Esports and HOTU are 0-2 on the brink of elimination.
Over the next three days, eight teams will advance to the playoffs, and the other eight will be eliminated from the tournament.

The Rainbow Six Siege RE:L0:AD event will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from May 10-18, where 20 of the world’s best R6 teams will compete against each other for the first time this season.
After two rounds of the tournament, FURIA Esports and DarkZero sit atop the standings with two wins and 10 points, while the pre-tournament betting favourite with Stake.com, FaZe Clan, are in 11th spot with a 1-1 record.
The top eight squads will advance to the playoffs, which are scheduled to kick off on Friday, May 16.

The PUBG Corporation will host the second PUBG Global Series tournament of 2025, when PGS 8 gets underway on Monday, May 12.
The event boasts a prize pool totalling US$300,000, and the winner will take home US$100,000 and 300 valuable PGS Points.
