The MongolZ and Aurora will clash for the second time in 2025, following their meeting at IEM Katowice, where the Mongolian Counter-Strike 2 squad claimed a 2-0 victory over their Turkish opponents.

The MongolZ entered PGL Astana as one of the betting favourites with top esports betting sites, and they quickly showed why as they rattled off three straight wins to advance to the playoffs. Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren and co. ended the Swiss Stage with an impressive 2-0 victory over Natus Vincere and appear to be at the top of their game heading into this quarterfinal.

Aurora made tough work of their relatively easy run in the Swiss Stage, dropping a map to both HOTU and Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2-1 wins before losing 0-2 to Natus Vincere. They put any lingering doubts to bed with a dominant 2-0 triumph over ODDIK; however, The MongolZ represent a much tougher challenge.

Two Counter-Strike juggernauts, Natus Vincere and Astralis, will do battle in the second quarterfinal, with both teams heading into this clash in some of the best form we’ve seen from them in quite some time.

NaVi are yet to play more than two maps at PGL Astana, after recording three 2-0 wins and a 0-2 defeat at the hands of The MongolZ. Justinas “jL” Lekavicius is yet to hit top form at this event, but if he can rediscover his best, NaVi are likely to take this series in dominant fashion.

Astralis are competing with Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen as a stand-in, but they’ve looked sharp across four matches, with their only defeat coming against tournament favourites Team Spirit. Martin “stavn” Lund has been Astralis’ standout performer so far, and if he and his teammates can maintain this level, they have every chance of pushing the series to three maps.

FURIA Esports and MIBR will meet for the second time at PGL Astana, after FURIA claimed a tough 2-1 win over their Brazilian rivals.

FURIA will be very pleased with their Swiss Stage campaign, which began with a 1-2 loss to The MongolZ before they bounced back with wins over GamerLegion, MIBR, and ODDIK. Despite making some role changes following the additions of Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis, the world No.18 team is firing on all cylinders.

On the other side of the server, MIBR battled back from the 1-2 pool to reach the playoffs, thanks to wins over paiN Gaming and Virtus.pro. MIBR will have taken plenty of lessons from their recent loss to FURIA, but with FURIA having had an extra day to prepare, the odds are stacked against them.

TEAM SPIRIT vs NINJAS IN PYJAMAS CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Two more teams that have already faced off at PGL Astana are Team Spirit and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Spirit were pushed to overtime on Train before running rampant on Dust2, claiming a swift 13-4 win to seal the series 2-0.

Spirit have shown exactly why they’re considered one of the best teams in the world — and the favourites to lift the PGL Astana trophy — after recording three straight 2-0 victories over GamerLegion, NiP, and Astralis. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov are currently the two highest-rated players at the event, making the task even more daunting for every other team.

It’s a commendable achievement for this Ninjas in Pyjamas roster to reach the playoffs; however, they’ve drawn the toughest possible opponent in the quarterfinals, and it’s hard to see them improving on the result from their most recent meeting.

Team Spirit will continue their 2-0 streak with another dominant display against NiP.
