Ninjas in Pyjamas have re-signed adamb, who returns to the Swedish CS2 team more than three years after leaving Young Ninjas.

Ninjas in Pyjamas esports team

Ninjas in Pyjamas announced the signing of Adam “adamb” Ångström, who rejoins the Swedish Counter-Strike 2 team after more than three years.

Adamb is the second new player to join Ninjas in Pyjamas this month, following the acquisition of in-game leader Karim “Krimbo” Moussa on loan from BIG.

The recent roster changes come following a long stretch of poor results for NIP, who have won just three tournaments this season, but not one since Stake Ranked Episode 2 in May.

While Ninjas in Pyjamas found some success in summer with a third-place finish at Stake Ranked E3, their results have dried up in the last month.

NIP crashed out of the Esports World Cup in 17th-24th place and have not managed to make it through qualifying events for StarLadder StarSeries, Stake Ranked E4, PGL Masters Bucharest, and Thunderpick World Championship.

Those failed campaigns ended with third-fourth, third-fourth, seventh-eighth, and ninth-12th place finishes, respectively.

Ninjas in Pyjamas’ newest member, adamb, is a familiar face for NIP fans, as he represented the Swedish organisation as a member of Young Ninjas in 2022 and 2023.

The 21-year-old joined Young Ninjas in April 2022 and, over the next 15 months, helped the team win WePlay Academy League Season 6 and some other smaller, regional online events.

In the summer of 2023, adamb left Young Ninjas to play for Metizport, with whom he qualified for BLAST.tv Austin Major, before leaving for OG.

Adamb’s stint with OG, however, did not bring notable results, as the team struggled to find success.

Since putting on OG’s jersey, adamb has won just one tournament, DraculaN Season 2, and has featured in only two bigger events, including StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 and Thunderpick World Championship 2025, where OG finished in seventh-eighth place.

During his fairly mediocre stint with OG, adamb averaged a promising 1.13 rating, with an average performance rating of 1.07 against world top-30 teams.

He now rejoins the Swedish organisation, where adamb will take over as a starting rifler and is expected to debut at Logitech G Play Connect, scheduled to kick off on Thursday, September 17.

Ninjas in Pyjamas enter Logitech G Play Connect as one of the outsiders, with the best CS2 bookmakers having them listed at +1091 on the outright markets, well behind the tournament’s leading title contenders in B8, Team Liquid, Inner Circle, and GamerLegion.

NIP’s first game of the event is scheduled for Thursday, when they face off against M80.
