Mid-Season Invitational 2025 (MSI)

The opening round of the 2025 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational Bracket Stage concluded on Thursday, with the winning teams advancing to the second round of the upper bracket, while the losers dropped into the first round of the lower bracket.

Gen.G kicked off the stage with a strong 3-1 victory over G2 Esports. Even though the outright title favourites at esports betting sites dropped the opening map, Gen.G bounced back with three straight wins to claim the series.

Anyone’s Legend progressed in much the same way as Gen.G, dropping the first map to FlyQuest before bouncing back with three consecutive wins. The top LPL representative arguably should have won the series 3-0 but stumbled in crucial moments of the opening map — something they would go on to correct in the following games.

On the final day of the opening round, Bilibili Gaming won the first map of the series before going on to defeat KOI 3-1 in a convincing victory. Bilibili set up a mouthwatering clash with reigning LoL world champions T1, who claimed victory over CTBC Flying Oyster.

As all champions do, T1 picked themselves up off the canvas to complete a comeback after trailing 2-1 in their series against Flying Oyster. They responded with a dominant map four win before closing out the match with a comprehensive map five victory.
