League of Legends Game Changers Rising news

The inaugural League of Legends Game Changers Rising (LGC) have locked in the eight competing teams, marking Riot Games’ first official women’s LoL tournament in Europe. Modeled after the success of VALORANT’s Game Changers series, this new competition aims to create a dedicated, competitive, and inclusive space for women in League of Legends.

The group stage will run from September 13 to 28, with playoffs starting October 13. The event will culminate with the grand final at Paris Games Week on October 30, hosted at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The finals will share the stage with the EMEA Masters Summer Finals, making it one of the most anticipated events of the year for European League of Legends fans.

Eight teams reached LGC through a mix of invitations and qualifiers. Riot directly invited three sister squads affiliated with LEC organizations: G2 Hel, SK Avarosa, and Vitality Rising Bees.

Three more slots went to the top performers from the Equal Esports Cup: Solary Academy, Nexus Reapers, and Galions Pearl. The final two spots were secured in open qualifiers by Eterna, who advanced with a flawless 6-0 run, and Zerance Bloom, who finished 5-1.

G2 Hel enter as clear favorites, having recently made history as the first women’s team to qualify for Europe’s tier-two LoL circuit. They also claimed the Equal Esports Cup, edging Solary Academy 2-1 in the final. Solary, however, showed they can challenge the giants and remain one of the teams to watch.

Vitality Rising Bees and Nexus Reapers also bring experience and strong rosters capable of deep runs, while SK Avarosa, led by veteran coach Joshua “Jarge” Smith, will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing Equal Esports Cup.

With a mix of established names and underdog stories, LGC Rising 2025 is set to become a milestone moment for women’s League of Legends.
