After picking three out of four with our League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2021 Summer tips for last Saturday, Esportbet returns with another set of betting predictions for this week’s action in the North American LoL league. Here are our best bets for Saturday, July 17, with top odds courtesy of BetOnline.

COUNTER LOGIC GAMING vs CLOUD9 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: CLG +254 at BetOnline | C9 -370.37 at BetOnline
When: July 17, 2021 at 14:00 PDT
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Cloud9 are 9-9 on the season, which is good for fifth spot in the LCS 2021 Summer standings, whereas Counter Logic Gaming sit at the bottom with only five wins to their name (5-13).

Obviously, CLG haven’t been doing too well this season, which led to a roster change on Tuesday, when CLG announced Tanner “Damonte” Damonte as their new starting mid laner, replacing Eugene “Pobelter” Park.

The introduction of a new in-game leader will likely make CLG change up their playstyle, which will present an element of the unknown for Cloud9 – potentially giving the underdogs a slight edge. However, the sizeable individual quality and performance gap that makes it hard to trust CLG.

Even if we assume that the introduction of Damonte will help CLG become twice as strong and improve key stats in Gold Percentage Rating (-1.42 GPR) and Average Gold Spent Percentage Difference (-12.1% GSPD), they would still be far behind Cloud9 (-0.12 GPR, 3.1% GSPD).

TEAM LIQUID vs 100 THIEVES LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: TL +110 at BetOnline | 100T -144.93 at BetOnline
When: July 17, 2021 at 16:00 PDT
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

With the sole exception of Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves are miles ahead of all other LCS teams if we compare only the metrics from the last three competitive weeks. The gap is sizeable enough to say that 100T and Evil Geniuses will reach the 2021 LoL Championship Series finals without any issues if things don’t change in the next few weeks.

Team Liquid are ranked somewhere in the middle of the pack, behind Cloud9, TSM, and even Golden Guardians, who have gone through a resurgence since the introduction of Eric “Licorice” Ritchie. Knowing that, it makes sense to have Team Liquid priced as underdogs for Saturday’s clash with 100T; however, we still feel like 100T are a bit overpriced at -144.93.

If 100 Thieves can play the same way they have been over the last three weeks, Team Liquid will have no clear win condition. They have talented players, but they’re nowhere near as good as 100T have been over the last few weeks.

DIGNITAS vs GOLDEN GUARDIANS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: DIG -120.48 at BetOnline | GG -108.7 at BetOnline
When: July 17, 2021 at 17:00 PDT
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

As noted above, Golden Guardians have found a new gear with the signing of Licorice as their new top laner. Former LCS champion has finally found his long-lost form and is now a key player of GG as they chase a ticket for the LCS finals.

Dignitas are 7-11 on the summer season, which ties them with Golden Guardians in the standings. However, they’re far behind in Gold Percentage Rating (-0.17 GPR) and Average Gold Spent Percentage Difference (-0.3% GSPD) to Golden Guardians’ 0.22 GPR and 1.7% GSPD.

Stats alone don’t paint a clear picture of how any match will play out, but even the eye-test would prove that Golden Guardians are playing better league. Dignitas shouldn’t be priced as favourites with esports betting sites for this match, and we will gladly take Golden Guardians at -108.7.

FLYQUEST vs EVIL GENIUSES LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

LoL Betting Odds: FQ +171 at BetOnline | EG -232.56 at BetOnline
When: July 17, 2021 at 18:00 PDT
Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

FlyQuest rose from the ashes and produced a perfect 3-0 run last week, beating Cloud9, Counter Logic Gaming, and Immortals. With that, FlyQuest doubled their wins on the summer season and are now at 6-12.

Evil Geniuses are 22-14 on the 2021 season but have managed a 12-6 record in the LCS 2021 Summer. EG are unbeaten in their last eight – by far the longest win streak in the league.

You could praise FlyQuest for their improvement, but you have to keep in mind that this is still an academy roster. What’s more, FlyQuests’ metrics last week were some of the lowest in the league, proving that they were a bit lucky to win all three of their games.

Evil Geniuses have been known for dropping games against weaker opponents, but the current version of EG is far more consistent. The kill line is way too low, considering the massive quality gap in this match.
