Dethroned Griffin will enter week seven of the LCK Summer Split with hopes of finding a way back to the top and into the playoffs, which might be easier said than done considering the schedule that awaits them.
Griffin sit fifth in the standings with a 7-4 record after losing three games in a row. They were shocked by Gen.G (0-2), lost a tight one to Afreeca Freecs (1-2) and were well beaten by DAMWON Gaming (0-2) in week six.

As if losing three in a row is not bad enough, Griffin’s defeat against DAMWON was a painful one that went against the grain of their head-to-head record. But times change, new playstyles are implemented and even some of the longest-lasting traditions see their end.
What pains Griffin most of all is that they are out of top spot, which they held from week two up to week four with seven wins from eight games. A difficult schedule means first place might now be a bridge too far, so staying in top five has to be the focus.
KT Rolster claimed an impressive 2-1 win over Afreeca Freecs in week six to move up to eighth place with a 3-8 record. While that ledger is by no means impressive, it is good enough to keep their boat afloat and clear of the relegation zone.
The win over Freecs highlighted the best and the worst of KT Rolster. They started with the first perfect game of the split, requiring only 26 minutes to go 15-0 up with a gold lead of over 15k. One would have expected a straightforward whitewash after such a dominant opening, but that was not to be.

KT started game two strong but let the lead slip from their hands in the 24th minute, when Freecs secured the Baron and added two kills before closing out the map 10 minutes later. It was the other way round in the final game, with Freecs grabbing the advantage early before Rolster rallied to snatch the points.
While it was a shaky win for KT, it was still a much-needed one which kept them above the relegation zone.
Griffin vs KT Rolster betting predictions
Griffin are heavy favourites despite their less than impressive run in the last two weeks. Recent results aside, the team looks strong and boasts an adaptable playstyle that allows them to finish games well. Griffin’s downfall of late has been their team fighting, which needs some fine tuning if they are to return to the top.
This fixture is an excellent opportunity for Griffin to show their might. While KT Rolster have enough quality to be considered a decent team, they are nowhere near as consistent as they would like. Errors in execution will be their doom against Griffin and Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong, who is known to capitalize on any mistakes his opponents make.
This should be an easy win for Griffin after three straight defeats. Betting on Rolster to win at least one map might be tempting, but their inconsistency them a dicey prospect at the +1.5 handicap. Get on Griffin to show their worth with a perfect 2-0 score.
