GamerLegion bench AWPer sl3nd after a dip in form, with plans to announce a new CS2 sniper before IEM Cologne 2025. Full details on the roster change here.
GamerLegion have benched Frederik “sl3nd” Neumann, just one month after signing the 19-year-old AWPer to their main Counter-Strike 2 roster.
The German esports organisation announced the news via social media on Thursday, June 13, confirming that sl3nd had been moved to the bench with immediate effect.
Sl3nd joined GamerLegion in May 2025 from MOUZ NXT, replacing AWP veteran Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, who departed the team following a string of poor results that saw GamerLegion drop out of the top 20 on the HLTV global rankings.
While expectations were high for the young Dane, sl3nd’s short tenure failed to produce meaningful results.
GamerLegion went 2-3 at CCT Global Finals, lost 0-2 to Aurora Gaming in the Thunderpick World Championship qualifier, and most recently fell to SINNERS in the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major closed qualifier.
In the announcement post, GamerLegion did not state whether they will continue with a six-man roster or seek a new primary AWPer, leaving sl3nd’s future with the team uncertain.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to bench sl3nd. Thank you for your efforts during your time with us,” GamerLegion wrote.
Sl3nd has not publicly commented on the decision as of yet.
