EDward Gaming will chase their first victory of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2025 Split 1 on Monday when they face off against ThunderTalk Gaming, who started the season strong.
ThunderTalk picked up a massive 3-1 victory against LNG Esports in the first week of the new split, proving that roster continuity is a big deal early in the new season. Like last year, they had issues closing out the game, and they looked a bit sloppy, but there is a silver lining.
ADC Li “1xn” Xiunan had a monstrous performance, while Yang “Beichuan” Ling again proved why he is viewed as one of the most impactful junglers in the Chinese LoL competition.
EDward Gaming were not as fortunate in their opening match, as they had to admit defeat to Bilibili Gaming in a 3-0 stomp. Despite losing, EDG had a good chance in game two to take a point, but they shot themselves in the foot.
Despite this being a veteran lineup, EDward Gaming seem like they are still figuring things out, and while they will eventually get there, EDG have a lot more to prove.
ThunderTalk Gaming have momentum on their side, and the continuity of the 2024 roster should help them keep their wheels spinning.
