FaZe Clan have announced the benching of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski from their Counter-Strike 2 roster, with Jakub “Jcobbb” Pietruszewski set to replace him.

FaZe Clan announced a drastic Counter-Strike 2 roster change on Friday, with the arrival of Jakub “Jcobbb” Pietruszewski as a replacement for Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski.
The unexpected change comes after months of underwhelming results for FaZe Clan, who have yet to win a tournament this season.

Their concerning situation extends far beyond only this year, as the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 finalists are on a 16-month title drought, having secured their last S-Tier trophy at Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024.
In a bid to find more success, FaZe turned to jcobbb, who joins the struggling team from Betclic Apogee Esports.
The 21-year-old made his debut in 2022 and signed his first professional contract in November 2023 with 9INE, with whom he spent just two months before joining Apogee.
With the Polish team, jcobbb has made a name for himself as one of the most promising players in the tier-two scene, averaging an impressive 1.13 performance rating and 1.06 kill/death ratio.
He is, however, inexperienced at the highest tier of competitive Counter-Strike, having made just one appearance in an S-Tier tournament – PGL Bucharest in April.
The 21-year-old will take over for EliGE, who was moved to the bench after a short seven-month stay with FaZe.

The North American rifler boasted a 1.11 rating during his tenure with FaZe; however, despite his individual contributions, the team have failed to find the needed stability to compete for big trophies.
The arrival of jcobbb is the second bold roster change FaZe Clan have made this year in an attempt to end their slump.
Since the arrival of EliGE, FaZe briefly benched Helvijs “broky” Saukant to make room for Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev for IEM Dallas 2025 and BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 before welcoming back the Latvian sniper after a quarterfinal exit from the Major.
Unlike s1mple, who was brought in on a loan, jcobbb has signed a permanent contract and is expected to debut in the online stage of BLAST Open Fall 2025 on August 27, when FaZe face off against ECSTATIC in the first round of Group A.
The best Counter-Strike 2 betting sites have FaZe priced as $1.12 favorites to defeat the Danish outfit, giving jcobbb an 89.3% implied probability of starting his new job with a win.
