LEGACY vs NRG

Legacy enter CS Asia Championships following a very promising performance at Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta, where they placed third after coming through a highly competitive field. That run was a strong reminder of their quality and their chances of going far in China.

There is one concern, though. Legacy played their last match on Sunday, meaning they have had very little downtime to travel to China and prepare for this opener. That could lead to some fatigue and a slightly slower start to the tournament.

NRG will look to take advantage of that situation, but given their lack of success this season and underwhelming results in recent weeks, they are a very tough sell.

Legacy might not be at 100%, but even in their current state, they should have enough quality to handle NRG with room to spare.

MOUZ vs TYLOO

MOUZ are favourites on the top-rated bookmakers to defeat TYLOO in front of the Chinese crowd on Wednesday, and that number makes sense on paper.

MOUZ have not won any tournaments this season, but they remain an elite team with strong showings in bigger events. Most recently, they placed third at PGL Astana, which is a far stronger body of work than TYLOO have produced internationally.

TYLOO have attended only one S-Tier tournament this season, BLAST Open Spring, where they finished ninth-12th. On the positive side, they have been in great form regionally and have dominated local competitions throughout the year.

TYLOO also avoid the long travel burden that MOUZ have had to deal with, which helps their case in a best-of-one opener. They look weaker on paper, but the conditions are good enough for them to keep this competitive.

TEAM FALCONS vs BC.GAME ESPORTS

Team Falcons and BC.Game Esports clash in what appears to be one of the most one-sided games of the day.

Falcons have recently emerged as one of the world’s best CS2 teams, with a bronze medal from Intel Extreme Masters Rio and silver from PGL Astana. They are in excellent shape and should be considered one of the leading contenders in China.

BC.Game Esports have not come close to winning a single event this season and will also have to play with analyst Robin “ScrunK” Röpke as a stand-in. That is far from ideal against a team with Falcons’ firepower.

Falcons will have had only three days to travel from Astana to Shanghai and prepare for this match, but the quality gap is significant enough to trust them on the round handicap.

PaiN Gaming struggled to find success in bigger events early in the season. However, they found their stride in March, with a bronze medal from FERJEE In House, a title at Circuit X Mayhem São Paulo, and more recently, a top-six finish at Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta.

M80 have also placed highly in some regional North American events, but their latest international showing was poor. They exited Intel Extreme Masters Atlanta in last place after defeats to Legacy and Team Liquid.

Neither team is expected to make a deep run, but paiN showed much more pulse in Atlanta and look like the more reliable side heading into this opener.

At the offered number, paiN Gaming are worth backing to start the tournament with a win.

3DMAX and MIBR met earlier this season at PGL Bucharest. 3DMAX reverse-swept the Brazilian squad, winning 16-13 on Ancient and 13-9 on Nuke, but they enter this best-of-one only as slight favourites.

After beating MIBR in Bucharest, where 3DMAX placed fourth, they were eliminated early at IEM Atlanta following losses to Team Falcons and G2 Esports. That was not ideal, but the level of opposition was strong.

MIBR have not featured in a tournament since their trip to Romania, meaning they have been away from officials for over a month. They came only a few rounds away from beating 3DMAX last time, but the long break is not ideal before a sharp opener.

With MIBR likely to arrive rusty, 3DMAX are the more appealing pick.

PARIVISION vs TEAM LIQUID

Team Liquid have been struggling since the start of the season and enter CS Asia Championships on a run of five losses from their last six matches. PARIVISION have been far more successful overall, although most of their best results came earlier in the year.

This month, PARIVISION attended PGL Astana, where they failed to perform and finished 12th-14th after defeats against G2 Esports, Aurora Gaming, and 9z Team.

Before that, PARIVISION also struggled at PGL Bucharest, finding success only against Wildcard, FOKUS, and Legacy. That recent form does not justify taking them at a short price, even against a shaky Liquid side.

Team Liquid are inconsistent, but in a best-of-one format, they are dangerous enough to justify a punt as underdogs.

Ninjas in Pyjamas enter the CS Asia Championship as a replacement invite for Aurora Gaming, hoping to continue where they left off in April and add to their deep run at CCT Season 3 Global Finals.

Despite placing third at CCT, NiP have been away from official play for nearly a month, which is not ideal before a best-of-one opener.

Unlike NiP, B8 have been active this month. They attended IEM Atlanta and won three of seven games, beating Passion UA, BC.Game Esports, and FUT Esports. Before that, B8 also performed well in Bucharest, beating Legacy and taking Astralis to three maps.

NiP made exciting changes in April with the arrival of Martin “stavn” Lund, but they still have more to prove. B8 have looked more potent lately and are a solid pick at this number.

THE MONGOLZ vs LYNN VISION GAMING

Best OddsMongolZ -333.33 at BetOnline | LVG +240 at SportsBetting
WhenMay 20, 2026 | 14:00 CST

Two local favourites, The MongolZ and Lynn Vision Gaming, will clash in the final game of the day in what looks like a tough opener for LVG.

The MongolZ are the most recognisable team from Asia, having spent the season competing in S-Tier tournaments and posting promising results. They made the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 23 and BLAST Open Spring, then placed third in Bucharest.

Lynn Vision Gaming have not featured in many bigger events, but they have dominated regional competitions, winning three tournament titles since March. More recently, they won the Asian Champions League with a perfect record, proving they are a class above most local opponents.

The MongolZ are a massive step up in competition, but in a best-of-one and with MongolZ coming off Astana, Lynn Vision can keep the score respectable.
