Magic defied the odds and reached the final four in Astana, helped by an upset victory over 9z Team in the quarterfinals. It was a huge result, but it does not completely change how this team should be viewed.

Across the tournament, magic have not been especially convincing. They lost to The MongolZ and Monte in the group stage, while their wins came against the struggling K27, HEROIC, Gentle Mates, and a 9z side that completely collapsed in the quarterfinals.

MOUZ had a much more promising run before the semifinals, beating Gentle Mates, G2 Esports, and Aurora Gaming in the group stage before defeating Aurora again in the quarterfinals.

The concern is what happened next. MOUZ hit a wall against Team Spirit in the semifinals, losing 13-3 on Dust II and 13-2 on Nuke in one of the most one-sided series of the event.

That kind of loss puts a question mark over MOUZ’s form, but the matchup is still favourable. Magic have had a great run, yet they remain a second-division team who should struggle to match MOUZ over a full best-of-three.

The top CS2 betting sites are right to have MOUZ as firm favourites, and the map handicap is the best way to play this spot.

TEAM FALCONS vs TEAM SPIRIT

Team Falcons and Team Spirit will clash for the trophy on Sunday in their third meeting of the season. Falcons won the first clash at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2-0, but Spirit answered back with a 2-0 win in the rematch.

Both teams have shown good form in Astana. Team Falcons finished the group stage with a 3-1 record before taking down FURIA in the quarterfinals and magic in the semifinals.

Team Spirit have looked even cleaner. They swept through the group stage and followed it up with playoff wins over G2 Esports and MOUZ, with the semifinal victory over MOUZ standing out as their best performance of the tournament.

Spirit demolished MOUZ 13-3 and 13-2, with Danil “donk” Kryshkovets leading the way after posting a 1.95 rating on the day. When Spirit are firing at that level, they are very difficult to stop.

Team Falcons have had their own moments this tournament, but they have not looked quite as potent. They have also become known for slipping in key games, which is not ideal heading into a grand final against a Spirit side that appears to be peaking at the perfect time.

Until Falcons prove they can consistently deliver in finals, Team Spirit are the better pick at the price.
