All of the 2022 Cloud9 White roster are reportedly on course to become free agents after an impressive fourth-place finish at the Valorant Game Changers Championship in Berlin.

The core of Cloud9 White has been united since September 2020, when they were known as MAJKL. In December 2020, the team was acquired by C9, and since then it has been the most formidable group in the North American Game Changers scene, winning every single edition.

C9 White were favorites to win the first international Game Changers Championship. The event, which took place in Berlin, Germany, from November 15-20, featured teams from all over the world and came with a prize pool of US$500,000.

After a successful opening victory against KRÜ, Cloud9 White were eliminated from the upper bracket by G2 Gozen in the semifinals. As a result, they were placed in the lower bracket and faced the challenge of winning four consecutive matches to ultimately claim the trophy.

In the following match, Cloud9 White were able to defeat Guild X, setting them up for a confrontation with Shopify Rebellion. C9 had previously outperformed their North American rivals; however, on this occasion, Shopify Rebellion emerged with a 2-1 series victory, thus eliminating Cloud9 White from the tournament.

Although it is yet to be announced, it has been reported by multiple sources that the Cloud9 White roster will no longer be operating under the C9 banner. The future plans for the members are currently unknown.

A few months earlier, one of the core members of the team from the original MAJKL roster, Annie “Annie” Roberts, transitioned from the active lineup to become a streamer with the franchise. She was replaced by Australian player Bob “Bob” Tran. In September, Cloud9 White parted ways with coach Reid “xOtek” Johnson, releasing him from his contract.
