Los Angeles Thieves

The 2025 Call of Duty League Championship continued in dramatic fashion on Day 2, with heartbreak for one of the league’s most storied franchises headlining an action-packed slate.

Thieves eliminated after Surge sweep

The biggest story of the day was the stunning elimination of outright betting favourites with esports betting sites, Los Angeles Thieves, who were unceremoniously dumped from the competition following a 3–0 defeat at the hands of Vancouver Surge. Entering the match off a narrow loss to Boston Breach in the opening round of the Winners Bracket, LA were expected to bounce back—but Surge had other ideas.

Dominating in all facets, Surge never let Thieves settle into a rhythm, putting up clinical map wins and exploiting every weakness. The loss marks an early and painful end to the Thieves’ 2025 campaign and will no doubt trigger serious questions for the organisation heading into the offseason.

FaZe rebound, Royal Ravens eliminated

Atlanta FaZe avoided a similar fate in their elimination match, securing a 3–1 victory over Carolina Royal Ravens. After being stunned 3–0 by OpTic Texas on day one, FaZe regrouped and delivered a composed showing to keep their CDL Championship hopes alive. The result also confirmed the Ravens’ exit from the Call of Duty tournament, leaving them with plenty to reflect on after two straight losses.

Breach & OpTic advance to winners final

In the upper bracket, Boston Breach outlasted Miami Heretics in a nail-biting 3–2 series. Breach’s clutch factor was on full display, with standout Search & Destroy performances turning the tide at key moments. Meanwhile, OpTic Texas continued their strong run with a 3–1 win over Toronto Ultra, setting up a mouthwatering Winners Final clash between OpTic and Breach.

CDL Championship day three matches

Although there are only three matches with betting markets, the third round of the elimination bracket and the elimination final will also take place on Saturday.
