Team Vitality defeated Aurora Gaming 3-1 in Barcelona to win StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 and end their title drought.

Team Vitality

Team Vitality defeated Aurora Gaming on Sunday, September 20, in the grand final of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, winning their first tournament title since May.

Team Vitality proved to the world that they still have it on Sunday, with a dominant 3-1 victory over Aurora Gaming in Barcelona.

It marked a huge milestone for the former No.1 Counter-Strike 2 team in the world, who had failed to lift a trophy in their last five consecutive attempts, often falling short early in the knockout stages.

Despite their success, Vitality’s run to the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 trophy was not a smooth one, as they encountered one big obstacle.

After beating magic and FURIA, Vitality got their first taste of defeat when they lost to Aurora Gaming in the upper bracket final.

It was a painful loss, with Aurora outperforming Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and his men with 13-7 on Anubis, 11-13 on Inferno, and 13-8 on Nuke.

After dropping into the lower bracket, the Bees had to make it past FURIA for the second time and did so with flying colours, winning with 13-5 on Cache and 13-8 on Anubis.

There was not much time for celebration, as Vitality were set to face Aurora for all the marbles later the same day.

However, even with little preparation time, the resurgent ESL Grand Slam VI champions stepped up to the plate and ran over the Turkish outfit.

Despite beating Vitality on Saturday, Aurora Gaming did not find as much success in the grand final.

They started the series poorly, allowing Vitality to lock in a commanding 13-4 victory on Anubis, before Aurora struck back with 13-11 on Inferno.

After proving they can fight, Aurora Gaming turned into a pumpkin and got blown out on Mirage, managing only four rounds in a 4-13 defeat.

The decider, Cache, was just as one-sided. Aurora managed to keep up the pace on CT-side, ending the first half 5-7 down.

But they were far less effective on the attacking side and produced just two more rounds, ending the map with a 7-13 loss.

On Aurora’s side, Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın stood out, posting the team’s highest average rating of 1.15.

Meanwhile, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut shone the brightest on Vitality, ending the series with a 1.51 rating.

By winning StarLadder StarSeries Fall, Vitality have ended their four-month title drought and re-emerged as serious big-trophy contenders.

Their job, however, is far from done, as Vitality now have just two weeks to prepare for the next big challenge, ESL Pro League Season 24.

The tournament is scheduled to run from October 3 to 11, preceding the heavily anticipated PGL Masters Bucharest, which kicks off on October 24.
