RLCS 2026 World Championship begins with what is expected to be a very one-sided game, as Five Fears take on Mate y Tapa as +1600 underdogs.

At this number, the best Rocket League bookmakers are giving Five Fears a mere 5.9% implied probability of causing an upset.

Mate y Tapa made it to the world championship by winning the European Last Chance Qualifiers, which is no small feat.

However, their success is hardly surprising, as this is a solid roster, fielding two known names from the RLCS world in Lautaro “ajg” Gusinsky and Sergio “AtomiK” Cortés.

Five Fears hail from the Sub-Saharan Africa region, where they dominated, winning five SSA Open events.

But their performances, with last-place finishes at both past RLCS Majors and the Esports World Cup, are a clear indication of where 5F stand on the international stage.

This is a must-win game for the European squad, who should not struggle securing a sweep.

Virtus.pro are -476.19 favourites to defeat Bigdoes, which does not sound wrong.

But the Brazilian squad are no pushovers and should be in a fine spot to force a closer game.

Bigdoes have had a solid stage, placing top-four in SAM Open 5 and 6, and then winning the South American Last Chance Qualifier.

Notably, they have struggled against the region’s top dogs in FURIA and MIBR, but have otherwise been unstoppable.

Virtus.pro hail from a more competitive North American region, which counts for something.

But they have not found much success this season, up until the Last Chance Qualifier, where VP placed third.

As the fifth-sixth best team from North America, Virtus.pro deserve some recognition, but they appear overrated at these odds.

Bigdoes to cause an upset at +338 is a solid bet.

TSM have won two APAC Open events this season, but have not left a lasting mark in either RLCS Major event, ending both in last place.

At the Esports World Cup, TSM showed some signs of life and stunned NRG in the first round, but then got stomped by Team Vitality and Shopify Rebellion, proving once more they do not have what it takes to succeed at the top level.

R8 Esports have not been hugely successful in this season’s international events either, recently ending the Esports World Cup in ninth-12th place.

However, in Paris, R8 put up a fight against Falcons, swept Five Fears, and nearly defeated Karmine Corp.

Even in the Paris Major, R8 showed some good things. They took a map off Spacestation Gaming and came one map short of upsetting FURIA.

Neither team is expected to make it far this event, but R8 have shown more against international opposition, making them an inviting bet at -153.85.

Team Falcons will start their RLCS World Championship campaign in the play-ins; however, they are the main favourites on the outright markets after their dominant performance at the Esports World Cup.

While the verdict is out on whether Falcons can perform as well as they did in the EWC, they are unquestionably one of the top-three teams attending the world championship.

FUT Esports have had a solid start to the season, with four top-four finishes in North American Open events.

However, their showings at the RLCS Paris Major and EWC, where FUT placed ninth-12th and 13th-16th, have left a lot to be desired.

A competitive team domestically, FUT have yet to prove they can compete against the world’s elite. A 3-0 sweep is likely.
