T1 entered the Mid-Season Invitational Play-In as one of the main candidates to qualify for the bracket stage. After the first round of play, they have retained that tag.

The Korean squad kicked off their campaign with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Team Liquid, who showed little resistance in Monday’s clash.

It is worth mentioning, however, that T1 showed some cracks in the early game, giving away too much gold before stabilising in the mid-to-late game and eventually running Liquid over.

Karmine Corp, like T1, did not struggle on the first day of the tournament, beating Deep Cross Gaming 3-0. More importantly, Karmine Corp showcased a strong early game and excellent macro, which is encouraging ahead of their clash with T1.

On paper, T1 are the superior team, and anything less than a T1 victory would be a surprise. However, Karmine Corp looked well-prepared in the first round, and if they can keep their wheels spinning and look as potent early, KC can cause issues for T1.

DEEP CROSS GAMING vs TEAM LIQUID

Best OddsDeep Cross $6.00 at GG Bet | Liquid $1.11 at Betway

The best League of Legends bookmakers have Team Liquid priced as $1.11 favourites to defeat Deep Cross Gaming. Considering how weak Deep Cross looked on day one of MSI 2026 Play-In, that sounds like a fair assessment, but the number is still very short for this matchup.

Deep Cross were smoked by Karmine Corp without showing any meaningful resistance. They were outmatched in lanes and struggled with macro, making it difficult to find many positives from their opening performance.

On the other side, Team Liquid did not perform much better. While they managed to do some damage to T1 with smaller outplays, Liquid struggled to do much with their leads, which has been an issue throughout the split.

So even though Team Liquid are stronger on paper, they are not as strong as the latest odds might suggest. Deep Cross were poor in their opener, but this is a much more manageable opponent, and they should have enough chaos in their game to steal at least one map.
