After a shaky opening stretch, Gen.G steadied themselves last week with wins over DN SOOPers and Nongshim RedForce. The first series was comfortable enough, while the second was much less convincing and could easily have gone the other way.

Even at 5-3, Gen.G still do not look quite as sharp as they did during the LCK Cup. The biggest issue has been how inefficient they have been once they get ahead. Too often they build winning positions and then make the game harder on themselves than it needs to be.

The market has BNK FEARX as massive outsiders here, and while that is understandable given their overall record, the number still feels a bit too harsh. FEARX have not been anywhere near as convincing in Rounds 1-2 as they were during the LCK Cup, but there have been a few signs of life lately.

They showed some promise in the loss to KT Rolster, particularly in the way they punished mistakes when given the chance. They also played a competitive map against T1, which at least suggests this team still has enough punch to make stronger opponents work.

Dplus KIA, meanwhile, are in a much healthier place. They have won five series already and, maybe more importantly, they have looked a little less chaotic than usual over the last week or two. FEARX are still dangerous enough to sneak a map if DK lose focus for even a little while, and Dplus are not quite reliable enough yet to justify being priced like a certainty.
