Kwon “Helper” Young-jae was released from his position as League of Legends head coach at Anyone’s Legend on Wednesday, March 18, ending a short three-month stint with the team.

Helper joined the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) team in December 2025 as a replacement for Wong “Tabe” Pak-kan, but he has been shown the door very early into this career with the Chinese squad.

The 30-year-old was considered a massive addition for Anyone’s Legend after his highly successful stint with Gen.G, with whom he won two Mid-Season Invitational titles and reached the semifinals in the last two LoL World Championships.

However, despite his past success, Helper has failed to reach the same heights on Anyone’s Legend, who failed to qualify for the First Stand 2026 after a fourth-place finish in LPL Split 1.

Anyone’s Legend entered the 2026 season with high expectations, as they were one of the few teams that could count on continuity, having kept their roster untouched.

However, while this same lineup placed second in LPL 2025 Split 1 and won Split 2, they were unable to replicate that success in the opening split of this season.

In a bid to bounce back, Anyone’s Legend decided to cut ties with Helper; however, this change comes at an unfortunate time, as AL have just over a week to prepare for the Esports World Cup qualifiers.

Fortunately, the rest of the coaching staff has remained intact, with Zhang “MingZhe” Yu now taking over as the head coach. He will receive help from Jin “Pewpew” Can, and two assistant coaches Jiang “Teacherma” Chen and Lee “Fury” Jin-yong.

The Chinese team have yet to announce whether they intend to sign a new head coach before the next competitive endeavour, nor whether roster changes are lined up before the LPL season resumes on March 22.
